Bad PCV?

Hey there, I've got a 1995 GSX. and I was on my way to a car show tonight, and while cruising down the highway at 70MPH and about 3k RPM I noticed the temp gauge get higher than usual, so I found the nearest auto zone thinking I was just low on coolant, but when I would be at a stop light the temp would drop back down to normal.

So I popped the hood when I got to auto zone and went to check oil level and the damn dipstick handle was gone but the metal part was still in the tube. So I picked up a quart of oil and put some in for the drive home just in case. It sounds like PCV issue to me but I've replaced the damn PCV valve on the valve cover twice now.

Idk if I keep getting bad PCV valves or if there is another part of the PCV system that could go bad. and also before the dipstick issue, the metal taps on the oil cap would keep bending up, like pressure build up was pushing it up, the oil cap was from oreillys. So i figured the cap was just crappy I bout a quality one. I hope someone can help me out here

Are you leaking oil from valve cover or oil cap?

the valve cover leaks a little bit, but the old oil cap leaked, but the one i put on yesterday doesnt seem to leak

sounds to me more like a cooling system/tune issue than an oil issue. are you using the A/C?

maybe under light cruise its leaning out, hows your wideband reading?

Nope, car doesnt have A/C. And while cruising it was bouncing from 14.5-14.9

I had a very similar issue. Did an emissions delete and cured it. I had too much pressure but didnt have the temp problem.

I would do emissions delete, but I have to get my car tested once a year

That sucks man. Eliminates some factors when having problems for sure though. Do you have a catchcan or vc breather on there?

nope, still just the stock pcv system

Is your radiator sealed to the core support?

Is the rad core clean and free of debris?

common elevated temps at hwy speed is the air flows around the rad and not through it.

"Core"stack can cause it too, FMIC, condenser core, trans cooler core then the rad... the air flow getting to the rad is heated up and restricted.
