Hey everyone, I’ve got a question. A few months ago I bought an Evo 8 ECU, and the guy who sold it to me says it has two maps—one for E85 and one for 93 octane. How can I verify that? At some point a tuner told me that to run E85 on a DSM, you could only do it with a standalone ECU.

Thanks for your help

You can do flex fuel on the evo ecu as well. Dual maps the easiest way to test if you don't have a way to pull the tune is to key on and hold WOT with the engine off. If the CEL changes from flashing slowly to quickly or vice versa you have a dual map tune assuming its setup to map switch by TPS which most are now.

Thanks for reply, I had another doubt, to use the Evo 8 ECU, Is it necessary to modify the harness?, the person who sold me the ECU told me that he had that ECU in his buil

On a 2g you need to swap a couple pins around but they are easy to depin and move, doesn't take very long and its straight forward while being able to return to stock if needed. 1g needs an adapter harness
