MMcd = limited feature set OEM logger, not even close to what you get with DSMLink

The bottom line, you can't compare dsmlink and burning your own chips.

Random huh? Logging software is mmcd 1.6n. As for burning eproms I use winhex.

Right now the eprom I have burnt has the following mods:

720 cc injectors with 210 ms deadtime
Phantom knock elimination code
revised fuel and timing tables that perfectly match the airflow and timing of a 2.4 liter engine with a 60 trim turbo
5000 rpm stutterbox
800 rpm idle
no lift to shift
7800 redline
security code to prevent theft

This is just a start of what can be done to the eprom. Real time changes can be done via a g3 piggy back card and a laptop.

Dsmlink is better because of the ease of use, the large support base from other users and the developers, the superior logging, and the on-the-fly changes. I've been burning my own chips for a while now but I'm more than willing to admit that the dsmlink offers advantages over my tuning method. However, I have the same control and tuning capability as a DSMlink user, and in my case the cost of entry was 60 bucks for an eprom burner and some 29c's and 40 bucks for an ebay logger cable. I already had a laptop for school and I already needed a new eprom ecu because the ecu that came in my car was a non-turbo ecu. To me, the cost savings more than made up for the loss of the logging functions, and I enjoyed learning about the inner workings of the ecu and how to manipulate the code. I'm just a cheap bastard trying to spend as little money as possible on my POS to achieve my performance goals, people with a greater budget might want to spring for the link.
