There's a simple answer to this problem all of you seem to be having. If you don't have personal experience about something, or you're not 100% sure about what you're going to say, then don't say anything at all. There are plenty of guys who actually DO know what they are talking about who can covers those bases.
This "hack" basicially sets up a 2g ECU to run the motor as though it was a 2g motor. Since the vast majority of the sensor are the same on our cars, even with the different generations, this is fairly easy to do. You just need the couple of things that are 2g specific, as already mentioned by Hal, such as the 2g airflow meter.
