What kind of cold air intake should i be using on my evo III big 16g turbo? I'm looking to not spend alot of money. Any advice on an intake?

The stock intake manifold will do just fine. If you are really pushing your turbo and have some extra cash, get a Evo III manifold.

He said CAI, not IM. :)

Are you on the stock MAF? If you are, why not run a Injen or Injen knock-off Intake. I ran one with no problems for a year, and when I switched to GM MAF and SSAC FMIC I used the 90 Accord Intake mod(where the filter is moved to stock SMIC location)

haha my bad! :ohdamn:

Injen/Ebay knock off/Greddy (my personal favorite). Just make sure you get one with a recirculating port for the BOV. The better the exit hole matches the inlet hole of the turbo, the better the flow. But it's minimal gains at best. So basically, as long as it routes the air in, you'll be good. Heck you can also hack the stock rubber pipe to get the inner tube of the OEM bov recirculation minimized inside to open up the flow if you don't want to spend much.

Not sure if you already have one, but go K&N for the filter if you don't have one yet.

Hes running a 16g, the inlet is about 2.25 inches, fp intake could be a poor choice

read up on this: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/bol...-extremepsi-filter-options.html#post152856721

I would say a 3 inch intake would be better suited for the 16g. I currently run a dejon 3 inch, no complaint, if I needed another intake I would get one from Dejon.

Yea I've read that before that's a good point too, but it's only a restriction if you're maxing out the turbo to it's peak, I just like to buy things once and not have to keep buying the same things whenever I upgrade something. It is a good point though if planning to stick with the 16g and maxing it out.
