Alright so im in the final stage of dropping in my up grades in my 99 gsx are being shipped.. i have this right now..

1.)EVO III Big 16G
2.EVO 9 Fuel pump
3.) Hallman PRo RX
4.) Punishment Racing FMIC on its way..

my question is i know i have to get bigger injectors for this, then my stock ones.
i just was wondering i have a opening deal on some clean 880cc injectors for the same price as 660cc.. but my friend told me that they be 2 big for what im running and i could thirsting my engine, and i should go with 660. im ok with either one but would like 2 run the 880 in chase i got bigger sooner ill be ready. so what u guys think?

you need something to tune with either way, 660's won't be exactly what you need unless you're running alot of boost, have cams etc. You need some way to see your AF ratio and control fuel at minimum. SAFC is a waste, you're better off with going to a DSMLINK setup it seems, or an emulator, eprom with a chip, etc.

You cant really run the 660s without tuning, and if you have a tuning solution (like dsmlink) then dont bother runnign 660s and just get the 880s.

Your friend doesn't sound like he knows much what hes talking about, I suggest not asking him for his help anymore.

Like everyone said your going to need something to tune with, a safc won't compensate for injectors that big so you'd have to use dsmlink but in that case I'd just go with the 880's.

alright so is a DSMlink the only way to go here? or can i get an AEM Wideban? and a data logger? ### dsm is alittle too pricey for me.. and then the tuning issue.. i would need to learn how..

yea definitely go with the 880, but you do need something to tune em down with, dsmlink like everyone says, you could run and safc, but only if you go down with some 550 which is good enough, dont know how big your going, or if money is an issue

im just wanting anywhere from 300-400 hp and money not an issue just gona but a my upgrade drop in on hold for alittle bit longer untill i get my DSMlink... but then again i would need to learn how 2 tune.. which i am clueless at right now.. would need alot of help from you guys LOL..

If you want to run injectors that big your going to need DSMLink, some people can get away with using a SAFC with 660's but no one will really recommend doing it. You can log with DSMLink but your still going to need a WBO2. You can have someone tune your car for you if you decide to go with DSMLink or when you purchase DSMLink they have a forum that helps A LOT. Just do some more research on ways of tuning etc, it sounds like you don't really have a set goal for the car.. And your about to find what the world of DSM is all about, people aren't joking when they say DSM stands for "Doesn't Start Much".

haha.. damm alright well DSMlink here i go.. ill be looking for one on the classifieds if not buy a new one.. so dsmlink and Wibeban ill be needing next then?

If your goal is low 300whp which is very possible on that turbo. You could go with an safc which can be found for under $150. On a 2g 660's would be fine and enough for that turbo on pump gas. If you want to get the most power possible out the turbo then dsmlink or something like it is needed. Full control of timing will make tuning so much easier. You will also need an eprom ecu.

well i have taken a look at my ECU and i think it has been flashed already.. might be an eprom not sure ill take a pic soon and tell me what you guys think.. sooo about another 500 bucks ima have to spend.. damm dsmlink and wideban..

You have a 99, your ecu should be flashable. Read up on the tuning threads about the 2g flashable ecu's. If, after some reasearch you don't feel comfortable flashing it yourself, you can have it tuned by a shop.

yeah ok i thought so.. so i dont need 2 worry about the ecu then.. just a dsm link and a wideband.. ughh be so much easier if i had a job.. only 17...

If you have an eprom ecu forget the dsmlink. There are many tuning options available for the 98&99 eprom ecus that will do the same but for half the cost. Just search!

thank you guys! i knew i didnt have to buy dsmlink! i found a post for it and i need (EvoScan OBDII Mitsubishi MUTII DataLogger Scantool)? and the cable right? sounds good just need to do some research on how 2 use this.. can do i have to dyno the car in order to tune? or can i just ride around and tune

EVOSCAN is pretty powerful. Not crazy about the user interface and cut & pasteing to get graphed data is quaint, unless I'm missing some graphing function. I still prefer DSMLink but then again I've only had brief experiences with EVOSCAN on my buddies EVO IX. Some of the funtionality is completely insane though.

sounds like your tuning and fuel advice is set but if you run 680 i would just go with a 255 wally the evo pump wont be enough. also make sure you port the hell out of your turbo to decrease chance or boost creep.:thumb:

haha.. uhh.. well is evoscan really hard to use? i just really dont wana spend 350-600 bucks for a dsmlink.. i really want my car running the way she should be running again.. and yeah i chose to go with the 650cc my friend hooking me up with a new set for 190.
