As some of you might have seen, my 1G is put up for sale due to not having enough time nor money to put into replacing the clutch (the only thing that is keeping it from running) and me needing money to pay off some things.

Well, something happened and I got a pretty nice advance from the boss.. I guess he couldnt stand seeing me down in the dumps haha.. Couldnt believe it!

So i went reading/searching/learning on all different setups and recommendations/suggestions.

I didnt want to go 'all out' on a clutch given that im only staying around 300-350hp -- MAYBE 400 one day, but nothing more -- and since this car is my DD that I 'occasionally' do some pulls in (mainly getting onto the highway LOL), I think I narrowed it down to what I want to get.

So being semi budget friendly, how's this looking?

So what do you guys think? Did I do good? And if you found/know of a site and/or person that sells anything on my list cheaper, please link me! -- We all love saving a little money, am I right? haha..

I just want to read your thoughts and hopefully strengthen my decision before I go on my ordering spree.

I previously had the 2600 on a fidanza flywheel with no problems in my fwd-t, but that was 13 years ago. This time around on my 1g build, I figured i'd do the same, and do all the research you just did. I wasn't ready to order anything yet, infact the motor still isn't in the car, but black friday came in november, and extremepsi did a sale on competition clutch stuff that just swayed my decision.

So I went with the CC flywheel, CC stage 3 clutch kit, CC forged fork (which came with a new ball), new oem ball (because i didn't know the fork came with one), and OEM TOB (you don't want the TOB that comes in any clutch kit, afaik), and new TOB retainer clip.

I think it'll be personal preference as well as peer pressure one way or the other. For me, that sale just forced me to go that route.

I am biased toward ACT. I have been loyal for near 10 years with zero failures. With TOB, factor the price to your door. Extremepsi only has the handling fee. Some other items to consider for the job would be a new fork, fulcrum, and retainer for the TOB. Since you would be using new hardware, shimming the pivot ball should not be required. A clutch adjustment should performed for proper engagement.

Yes.....Ya did good. I like ACT. Also I second the motion for new fulcrum ball and fork. Need those, takes all the slop out of the pedal it feels awesome. Prices from RRE: Clutch fork and ball Price $69, Clutch fork only Price $59, Fulcrum ball only Price $15. Also, it's good to note that if your TOB that you take out looks different than the new one, this is normal because the 1G TOB was superseded by the 2G TOB so that is what gets used on all cars both 1G and 2G yes it fits both.

Ah, awesome guys, thanks.. Didnt think about all that.. OP updated... I'll order everything tonight if everything listed is fine.. I dont want to abuse this 'advance' so hopefully I dont 'need' too much more.

I personally like south bend clutch 1 reason my clutch has 30k on it with 300hp but at least 175 awe launches and holding very strong still. I also live down the street from SBC very nice people as well

I like the forged competition clutch fork, it's not that much more then the oem ones http://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/competition-clutch-forged-fork.397268/ , also make sure you use the plastic lined throw out bearing the metal ones wear the shaft on the trans. also might want to get a steel braided clutch slave cylinder line while your at it, or get the master to slave steel braided line.

I personally like South Bend, plus they cryo-treated my PP and clutch disc for an extra $40. I've had a Stg 2 on my Subaru making 360 WHP with over 50,000 miles on the clutch and climbing.

Yeah, my first initial thought was going straight southbend.. But the more I read the more a combination of the two were great.. plus, the 2600 has been tried and true in a lot of different builds, so that also made my decision to go with the 2600.. I know southbend clutches are fantastic as well, but i hear more good things on the 2600.. i hear good things on the southbend, but not as near as much as the ACT

Glad you don't have to sell that must be a relief :)

Eh, little bit.. I always end up fixing something, then something else breaks.. even though im excited, im still a little hesitant shoveling all this money in her again because i know something else is bound to happen LOL.. After this purchase and everything gets installed, it'll be basically a brand new car ha.. so nothing else 'big' should happen that will keep me from driving it.. (crosses fingers).

Oh yes, quite a long way as seems to be the trend with these little jewels. That stainless line make a huge difference for quick shifting Its a good mod to do. Seems like you have all your bases covered quite well though. Hopefully the clutch job goes smoothly. Just did mine recently as well :)
