So I know this clutch has been discussed before and I have read all about it and want to try it out since mine is starting to get really bad. I plan on upgrading a but I can't do it just yet. I just can't find anywhere if this clutch is alright to use with a stock/close to stock set up. My profile is up to date. I plan on getting a OEM TOB and Fidanza flywheel too. Any help would be appreciated.

I would get the sprung disc. It is less likely to come apart.

I read the opposite that the sprung disk is more prone to breaking like springs popping out. I don't know too much about clutches I just know mine is going bad and I want one that will work for now and when I upgrade.

With most clutches that is the case. I've personally seen about 4 or 5 of these un-spring disc's come apart because of the small number of rivets used. I had the same stage 3 with the sprung for 4 years in 3 different cars and it never failed me.

Okay so I am going be ordering a fidanza lightweight flywheel,fp lightweight flywheel kit, oem tob, and a clutch kit around the 1st. I am really considering the xtd stage 4 unsprung but I'm afraid it's going to be too much for my car and won't be drivable. I am fwd. should I go with the stage 3 sprung, stage 4 sprung, or stage 4 unsprung? Right now I have bolt on mods (profile up to date) I plan on getting link, fuel, and either a e316g or fp68hta.

Spec makes a good clutch setup. I'm currently running spec stage 3+ full face unsprung with spec lightweight flywheel and fp kit. Works great feels great and holds power amazing. I will ad watch the fp kit and the spacer it comes with. It's used to prevent gauling of aluminum, but in my set up it made the center of clutch hit flywheel bolts. Luck I notice before I put trans and all back together. I ended up just using the longer bolts and red thread locker, and the pressure plate stud setup.

Well I'm on a Budget right now and I was hoping to spend somewhere around 500 on parts which is why I was looking at xtd. I've read a lot of good things about them and not too many bad. Mainly I'm wondering which one I need to get. I will pay attention to the fp hardware thank you. I was looking at your set up in another thread and it sounded great but I don't think I can afford it atm and the clutch is starting to slip pretty bad on dd.

I actually have an ebay clutch setup. I bought the stage 3 F1 racing 6 puck with springs. I have it over 7k miles.no problems whatsoever. I followed the breakin procedure for the 800 miles. Never boosted it before the 800 mile period. It still had abiut more than half the clutch left. I beat my car from a launch all the time. I would reccomend it and purchase myself anytime.

So I just ordered my fidanza flywheel, oem tob, salve extension rod, ss clutch line, oem pivot ball, and oem fork. I need to order the fp flywheel bolt kit and the clutch kit. Am I forgetting anything? I know trans fluid. I just need help choosing the right clutch. Spec look nice but they are expensive. I've read a lot of really good xtd clutch reviews and I'd like to go with them so what I am asking in this thread is which one?? I want to get the right clutch for my car so anyone who can help me I would really appreciate it. Also if you notice anything else I need to order please let me know I want to do this right the first time.

This is a plate from a $600 clutch setup. If you make some torque, and drive hard, everything breaks. Consider it the dues of the game. I'm using an xtd disk now.

I understand things will break from hard driving and frankly I expect it to happen. This is why I want to order the stage 4 unsprung, My car sees some abuse here and there and I'm planning to start hitting the track after the new clutch is in (maybe once a month). My car isn't too far from stock and I don't want to get the stage 4 unsprung if my car can't handle it.

I've had the xtd stage 4 for close to 8000 miles. I have no complaints about it at all for the price. It was a little different to get used to, but after driving a day or so I was fine
