How to install my 2g full polyurethane front and rear roll stops/motor mounts

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

I should post a picture of what my front motor mount looked like with the poly insert removed, that center bushing had damn near seperated the rubber was so cracked and broken. I'm not exactly sure what to expect from these roll stops you made Adam but both my front and rear were broken and just had inserts in them. ROFL

:dsm:

Yeah my rear one was ripped with the inserts in. And you should expect pure awesomeness when it come to performance :hellyeah:

I got the rear roll stop installed today and as much as I was dreading putting it in, it was actually easier than the front. I want to once again say that these things fit PERFECT in the OE brackets that bolt to the transmission, it seems one (mm) too big or small and it just wouldn't work. Just cover the outside of the poly mount with WD40 and slip it into the bracket.

Here are a few photos of the rear roll stop compared to the prothane insert.

Cool, thanks Corey, so you gonna make it up here to fontana on the 30th and test them out?

No sir. The ACT twin disk and Shep trans, believe it or not, changed my tune because theres less rotating mass on the crank Im hitting different load cells. Ive got a parts list of stuff before I go out and make another pass which includes those solid rear diff and subframe bushings, 2150 injectors, a FF diff cover and a 340lph walbro pump. Realistically Im guessing end of August/early September before Ill be confident I wont break at the track.

qouting this for someone that doesnt have access to this forum, hes also running an Auto

I finally got enough free time to get these installed. Fitment for a 2ga auto awd is spot on. I did have to do some floor jack-to-trans finessing but I did not have to change the orientation of the pre-pressed roll stops Adam put together for me. Total time was about an hour and a half starting from the front.

Regular driving is comfortable and smooth. Idle is smoother at a stop light too and im still on stock cams with balance shafts so that says something.

WOT and full line pressure shifts are very good as well. Now comes the best part. I had a huge thump on downshifts and low throttle driving with the shiftbox...gone.

For comparison, prior to these mounts I had welded OEM rollstops with untouched engine mounts.

The transaction was 100% smooth and any question I had was answered quickly. Since these were being developed from scratch I expected them to take a while due to development, production and then shipping time. Adam was kind enough to kept me updated as things progressed and it was definately well worth the wait. I'm 100% satisfied in every aspect.

Thanks again!

Greg

Very excited to get these when you do the second run. No hurry :)

Sounds like using them with OEM mounts on the driver side and tranny will be fine? Or do you think it would be better to get inserts for those?

Ihat depends on your goals but having these roll stops even with the stock engine and trans mounts made a huge difference from what Greg said. I cant speak on the personally because I never had stock engine and trans mounts.

Matter fact I really cant speak on these at all yet because I havent driven my car since I installed these, my DSM is still under the knife LOL

So how much are these then as I've only got the inserts from prothane and these would be a lot better! Also are you designing these in red to match the others? I know there not really seen but would still be nice! I'm over in august so I could get them then just need a price shipped to 46013 please thanks

I have gotten tons of positive feed back on these, everyone loves them, and I get mixed feed back on install, it seems some people have a bit more trouble then others but all have noted its well worth the trouble!

Thanks!

I think maybe why some have trouble with the install has to do with what tools are available. Its never fun to beat and hammer away knowing the whole time if you had a press it would already be done.

yeah but with a hammer and a reciprocating saw or even an air hammer and its not too bad, the rear mount is def more of a PITA and i definitely recommend a press

So I asked Andrew at front line fab to incorporate Adams motor mounts in the front member he was building, boom here it is and nice as heck!I'm gunna blow some powder on it and throw it on so ill have update on weight and fitment if anyone is interested.

Now, how to tell my wife she needs to work some overtime for some extra cash?

I like the complete roll stop bar from Frontline fab. Let me know the weight and I'll slap it in the spreadsheet.

Wanted to update after driving on them for awhile. I daily drive the car & it handles uncanny. I and my friends are just amazed on how this car scoots. Anyone who is serious about modding, I recommend these mounts. Definitively helps out with shifts as well.

FWD's are making moves. Bottom line. It is almost unfair.

Oh, & I failed on taking pix. My smartphone was dead :banghead:

Install was surprisingly easier than expected. Just need a press.

Thanks for posting up your impression, im glad you like them

i dont know how i drove my car before with the stock roll stops LOL

did you get the front and rear?

Yes front & rear. Vibration is very apparent in front end of car. But your seats, rearview mirror, and steering wheel barely vibrate. At least a lot less than I expected.

I'm having issues breaking traction now, I need more than 10 psi haha. Will update again with 20 psi much sooner than later.

If & when I snag an awd, I shall be purchasing these again. No excuses. :toobad:

Do you make them for the AT?

yeah they fit the same on AT and MT and i have confirmed that the front mount on the NTs is the same, and im waiting for a local to pull his rear mount off of his NT to test fit the rear, but i think the rear mount is the same also

This is not the place to be doing a group, discussing quantity available, payment, price, etc. This is a tech forum to discuss new ideas/products from the mindset of fabrication and ideas to improve on the parts.

I have cleaned up the thread. Any more posts in regards to purchasing anything will be removed. If you have questions on the products such as fitment, reviews, etc., then post it up in here.
