hood flew off!! >.<

just a random post about what happened last night. me and my friend left my drive way and i was still driving slow to let the car warm up. i shifted into second and my hood flew up and snapped off! stupid ebay c/f hood! the notch where the hood latch holds cracked and my hood ended up in my neighbors yard. this just adds onto my other problems this week... 1)clutch master cylinder died 2) oil psi guage broke 3) speedo sensor died 4) blew 02 sensor 5) flat tire and now 6) hood..... what a week

that's why anybody that knows anything about carbon fiber hoods on this forum will recommend hood pins... sucks. you should be happy it didn't happen at higher speeds, and put a nice big dent in your roof and shatter your windshield.

haha, yeah, i got owned dude, def. use hood pins, i was told i didnt need them because it had a sturdy latch...that didnt go too well.

i wrecked my 1g and broke the hood latch, and had it bungee corded down. i was doing 80mph down the expressway, and the bungee decieded to let go. in the blink of an eye, the hood flew up, smashed glass in my face and eyes, the hood hit the roof so hard it caved it in and slaped me on the top of the head. now im dazed and confused with glass in my eyes and cant see anything anyway from a hood in the way, as im flying down I-75 with cars all around me. moral of the story, your lucky. it could have been a lot worse.

for all those who recommended hood pins... i actually had sparco pins in the mail when this happened. i have had the car locked up in the garage the past month putting parts on, and i was just going to take it out for a lil cruise... lesson Definately learned!
