Im trying to see how this is even possible - was looking on craigs list for dsm parts and came accross this;

763 HP 585 FT LBS TQ Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX AWD

Car claims to have 763 whp and 585 tq... on a holset hx-40 ( with 38mm tial ) I am not at all up to date with my holset info, but is this even possible???
All this "claimed" power using a stock evo mass air as well?... something does not add up here...

I would say that it is possible. The compressor flows almost 70lbs/min and with that turbine housing it should be able to get there too.

I'd like to see video or dyno charts. I'm not saying it's not possible because the turbo definitely can do it, but the Evo MAS is only 3" I.D. so I'm not sure how much intake restriction can exist.

This thing's knocking on Curt Brown's backdoor if it's for real.

Isn't the highest recorded hx40 car like 680ish? Even though the compressor maxes out at 70lbs/min mid 700whp seems just out of its reach... 1000cc injectors and only a single wally 255... I am not familiar with race gas set ups but even with race gas that seems a bit far fetched.... I could be wrong..

I should contact the seller and tell him that if he can provide dyno sheets and a video of the car making his claimed horsepower (c'mon, you mean you didn't shoot VIDEO of that event?!?) that I'll lay down $15,000 in cash for the car.


The probability of this car actually making 763whp has about the same probability of me having $15,000 in cash laying around; just as the probability of the car actually being worth $15,000 has a direct relation to anyone actually paying that much for it.

He didnt have much to say when my buddy showed up with his 1g the other night. ( if he is putting down 450whp, he would have some stiff compitition against my friends talon ) but the gsx kid kinda just snubbed him and walked away from his car.
