At what rpms does the .55 ar housing become restrictive on a 2.0 l. I'll he using the hx40 pro. Is 9k far fetched?

Yeah, the dsm flange seems to be enough for the hx-40, paired with a simple FP race manifold, Its a monster set-up for cheap...and did i mention reliability??

You will be more than fine.

Awesome that's what I wanted to hear. Will I really see that much difference between using my ported 2g manifold or buying the fp manifold?

Also will the fp clear the water pipe?

Which .55 housing? The record was set on a t3 .55 not the mistu flanged .55 housing. I was running the mitsu flanged .55 a/r housing with mine and it seemed to die off at about 7500-8000. If your going with that housing my setup performed better with a stock intake rather than a smim. If your looking to get the most out of that hx40 get the t3 .70 a/r housing or use the stock turbine housing.

I do have the bolton housing. I just bought a smim but im running a 2g 7bolt. How could having a smim actually hurt my performance? Are you talking about spool or overall performance? Also does anyone know the answers to my other two questions.

I am just giving you my experience with it. I also switch from bc 272's to kelford 272's. The bolt-on housing does not seem to flow all that great up top but it has amazing mid range. It will make power but it isn't going to let you get everything out of that hx40. I also had the fp manifold and my did clear but mine was also on a 1g. With a 2g I still think your going to have to dent your water pipe.

Well since i already have the turbo with that housing ill run it for a while and see how i like it. I like the idea of a faster spool but if the extra power in the higher rpms out weighs the benefits of the quicker spool ill probably end up switching in the future. I currently have the jmf race smim, bc280 cams and a ported 2g mani. if the fp manifold is going to make a big difference ill get one.

I don't see how there would be any difference in flow between th two housings if there the exact same ar. Wouldn't only spool time be increased because of it being t3?

A/r is a ratio not exactly how big or how small a housing is...

Ok. I was thinking the 55 but that was because of current records with others using it.
