Says who.... OMG
Not that I have special times or anything..but I submitted new times last October to Russ and it didn't get updated. I never busted him because it didn't bother me any.
Maybe I'll talk to my friend Matt, who owns www.atdsm.com with me, and without stepping on Russ' toes, myabe we can start hosting a times log.
Mike

If anyone wants there time added to my fastest page please email me at [email protected]. All I ask is that you provide all the information that is listed on each line.
I get many times from people without a NAME! Sorry but if you won't list your name I won't list your time.

Mike, sorry but I can't find your time in any of my emails, resend it and I will update your time.

If www.atdsm.com wants to take over the list be my guest.

My wifes 95 A/T FWD ran 13.8@101mph@15psi.

BTW little bit of info. Warren C Daniel is listed on Russ Coxes' page as running 13.2 but he was actually one of the first (if not the first) 2G A/T FWD to post a sub 12 second timeslip. It used to be on the times page and on Warrens home page but they are both long gone. To date Kiggly still has the fastest FWD A/T time of 10.2 I think. He now has since converter to a manual transmission and I think he runs 9s now. Our A/Ts were not really meant to handle that much hp even with upgraded internals.

Not sure were you are getting the info on Warren's car, but the 13.2 time was the fastest strip time ever listed publicly. The 12.7 he listed on his webstite was from a G-Tech run.

As far as Kiggly is concerned. He ran a best of 10.2 and then pulled the A/T and went 9.73. He has since put the A/T back in his car and ran a best of 9.96.

First 12 sec pass, Dave Buschur 10/1997
First 11 sec pass, unknown ??/2000
First 10 sec pass, Russ Coxe 5/2002
First 9 sec pass, Russ Coxe 9/2004

I'm pretty sure Russ was the first into the 11's as well. I seem to remember him clicking off a high 11 and then the next weekend or so I did the same. This was in the fall of 2000.

If you want to break apart the AT dsm listings more, I'm the first FWD into the 12's, 11's, 10's, and 9's. I'm going to do my damn best to beat you into the 8's Russ!

As for whp with an AT, I think I have those cornered with runs from a couple years ago. I will be improving on these over the winter, but my best was 535whp no nitrous and 610whp with the spray. I've yet to see actual dyno plots from anybody else that surpass these, although there have been a couple claims.

The 11 sec pass is in question because of that never seen white 1g that was talked about so much around that time period. Its not worth splitting hairs over. :)

To hijack this thread even more. I guess the battle for 8's is on! I've started my yearly rebuild with the idea of getting at least 250 lbs out of the car. Progress can be found at

God willing, 2005 will be a helluva' year for AT DSMs!!
Hopefully either Russ or Kiggly make it there to the 8's. Either man there would be great!!!
I will be very happy myself to hit the 11's next year.
Good luck to both of you two and hope to spot ya' sometime running.

I think it is amazing how just a few years ago breaking into the 12's was amazing, now they are about to get a turbo 4 banger into the 8's.

Russ, no big deal about the updated time....after the first email I sent, I thought about resending it, but was constantly changing my setup, so I figured a faster one would follow....what a load of crap, because since that run last October, I've only made two slower passes.....thanks anyway
Wasn't Bob Friend running right up there with you guys early on?
I can speak for myslef and a few other friends who are highly active on ATDSM.com, at least three of us are going to be shooting for serious numbers in the next few months. I know I've got a bare 6bolt just waiting to be bolted to my trans using Kevin and Johns solution.
Let's keep up the good work guys, and may the race to the 8s begin...errr...continue
Mike

So 13.2 is still the fastest listed time for a 2G FWD A/T??? Damn that really makes me pissed that my tranny didn't stay together. I'm pretty sure I would have elapsed that time and then some. Since I ran the 13.6 @ 105 just over 2 years ago! Oh well I have a firend that we are building his Spyder A/T up right now. Should be a beast and should easily be deep into the 12's, if not high 11's. Depending on whether the tranny likes it or not, and wether we can get the billet converter to the right stall.

Russ I found the timeslip for the pass before the 10.93, its an 11.0 at 121. I can submit that to ya, it should pretty much prove I ran the 10.93. I turned the boost up one more pound and came out a little harder to achieve the extra .10 and .6 mph. I also know someone that has it on video, once I can finally get ahold of that, itll be on record.

My turn to hijack :p

Russ, I've seen swiss cheese with fewer holes than your car!! Looks awseome.:D :thumb:

Since you are on the light weight kick, have you seen these aluminum control arms from specialty products:
http://www.specprod.com/PROD_DIR/C_PROD_passcar_SEARCH_DYN.cfm?cmd=Cam&cmd2=72030&cmd3=

It should save a bunch of pounds over the stock steel units up front, plus make alignment much easier.

Man auto trannys are about the ONLY part of a DSM I dont know inside and out. Autos are very specialized, we have stock rebuilds done here in town, and more serious stuff we send to IPT.

Eric is correct. Its something we are capable of doing but we simply do not have the space or the time at the moment. We are currently using IPT transmissions and we are very happy with the results.

Maybe this is a stupid question but would a 5-spd auto yield faster times than the 4-spd and is there one available that can be used in our cars or is this just wishful thinking?

I'm not familiar with any Mitsu that came with a 5-sp auto connected to it in the 90's.

Mitsu used the W5A51 5 speed automatic in the EVO VII over in Japan. Only 2700 autos were made. ;)

How much HP did the A/T model have and do you know what the 0-60 and 1/4 mi times were?
