HELP rpms Drop when clutch pushed in!

Ok i have 98 GSX, The problem is sometimes randomly mabye 1 time when i drive it for about 30 minutes, When push the clutch in to down shift or am making a turn in nuetral my rpms will drop and she will die. Other times it drops to like 400rpms and then they go back to 1000 (dsmlink idle setting) and i also have a brand New shep stage 3 trans, Clutch, T case, Slave cylinder. Even before i got these parts it did this.

It runs fine, pulls hard at 20PSI, shifts smooth, So i dont think its walking?

I would check the isc and tps to make sure they are both correct and working.

^^ Not a bad idea to check those, but I can't say I've had either give me these exact symptoms.

It doesn't sound like you've actually checked too many things yet. Go ahead inspect your hydraulics and harmonic balancer and then do the wonderful deed (it's not actually too bad) of removing the oil pan and checking for play. That is my preferred method, but a harbor freight dial indicator should save you from getting so dirty.

What flywheel, and is it new? My 3g does this frequently, partially because I'm using a Fidanza lightweight flywheel and the other reason is that my MAF is bad.

ya for sure check tps i had the same probs and and had to play with it and it fixed it

How would the FW effect it? wouldnt it being lightweight make it easier to idle, if not idle higher?

Dont rpms increase if the clutch is pushed in?

It could be crankwalk. Check crankshaft end play just to be sure.
