2G vibration when clutch is pushed in

I just purchased a 97 tsi today for a good price, but when you push in the clutch it vibrates pretty badly and rpms drop. If anyone has any advice as to what it could be I greatly appreciate it thanks.

does the motor make a knocking noise?

nope no knocking in the motor but for some reason the timing belt is a little loose on it and it makes a weird noise unless you push the accelerator

Sounds like the timing tensioner could be bad or the tension wasn't set right for the timing belt . when you push on the accelerator it's putting a small load on the tensioner and the noise will go away . then come back when you let off the accelerator. and if you loose rpms when you step on the clutch you might want to check the engine for crank walk. just a few things that come to mind from your discription.
