Okay so I just did valves/HG.I'm running pump 92 blocked fiav blocked all emmisions shortly before the car broke i replaced the coolant temp sensor. Now i have the car running but all of a sudden it acts like it doesn't want to start. It wont start unless i pump on the gas.Does anyone know what this could be? Its just kind of annoying me having to worry about it not starting one of these times...thanks

ECT(engine coolant temp)sensor. You mentioned before the car started acting up you replaced it. The wires may have been brittle and when you were changing the ect they might have broke.

You having to pump on the gas is not really doing anything but letting the air in to evaporate the gas the ecu is dumping beause the ect may not be sending a signal due to a faulty wire if this is indeed your problem.

I went through this with mine. The ect may check out to be fine but the wires may be broke.
If you have a logger check the engine temp. If the wires are broke the reading will say something ridiculous like -100% or something like that cant remember.

I'm running link v3 and i checked coolant temp and it is normal.i did have some big ugly wires that i swapped with another set and that's about when it started this so that may be my culprit. Idk just trying to get some more input. I have also checked the hot start enrichment button in link and it is the same thing so i am wondering maybe weak spark is having trouble igniteing the fuel.

What kind of spark plugs are you running 95gst16g? Of course in-proper plug gap will cause it to start hard and mis-fire going into boost at WOT. I've also noticed that specific types of spark plugs will cause cold start issues, specifically the NGK non projected tip (BRXES) plugs. Here is a picture of what they look like, the tip of the plug is recessed into the thread so only the electrodes protrude down into the combustion chamber.
I'd pull the plugs and check their condition and gap, it might be that easy. If everything looks good check your fuel pressure too... If you'd like, post a log of you starting the car and trying to get it to idle, maybe we'll be able to see something in the tune thats causing it.

So I was driving home and my alternator belt ate itself...did some roadside mechanic skills and got a new one and got that fixed.I got home and swapped the wires to some others I had and it seems like it starts a lot better now.

Are you still having issues?

I don't know if you touched the TB at all when you disassembled the head, but maybe the IAC went out? If the plug wires did the trick, then they probably just had too much resistance.

Man Idk if its fixed or not...it was fine but my alternator belt started squeeling and I don't see what it had to do with it but one it started squeeling again it started cranking forever before it fired off...the iac should be fine I replaced it shortly before I pulled the head.I have all the other junk blocked but that has never made it hard to start before...

Maybe the belt has too much slack and you just need to adjust it so that it isn't slipping on the pulley.

You say it's cranking, but is it a sluggish crank or is it normal but just isn't firing?

It sounds like its cranking pretty hot to me but seems like when the belt slips its a bi*** to start it...it starts pretty quick again after I tightened the belt some more though.I have solid motormounts though and the alternator shakes around a bit so I'm scared to tighten it up too much and have the new belt bind and shred again.I need to figure out a way to Fab a bracket that will hold the alternator from shaking around.I'm sure I can make something
