"Hacked" Air Can Mod

I already have the air can "Hacked" but I havn't installed in my car.
I was wondering if that free mod will help me? or if the hot air of the engine will affect the performance of my car?

What those everybody do?

Hope hear some opinions and advices...

If it's this one it's a "free mod" for a reason. People report good gains from doing this because the heat in the engine bay isn't that bad.

IMO, i just hacked the hell out of it, left nothing but the clip on part, i pulled the maf out and removed the silencer, and also installed a new upic, but with the intake free mods alone the car seemed stronger, maybe my imagination, but it is definitely louder, had 2 different people ask me after i did it why my car was louder.

if your worried you could always do some sort of dryer hose "custom" duct, or dont cut it so much
