I knew they were but not this bad. I have a 1995 gst with just a kn cone on the end of it and best i could ran tonight was a 9.92@72mph, 60ft was a 2.453 or something, i know it was 2.4 though. Is that about right? I was actually hoping for 9.70's or what not. I know these aren't drag cars but it's frustrating. Seems like it would take forever to get it into just the 8's. Not gonna spend 3k to run 8's ;) My problem is i have the car now and know what it takes for 12's but it's a lot of money and i can buy a mustang or little old rotary car for very cheap and run 11's 12's. I guess i need to leave this stock.

you might be true about making the stang run 11's and 12's easy but a rotary (rx7 chassis) will take a lot of maintenance and you will have to watch the cooling system like a toddler

Yeah, but you could always take the rotary out and drop in a chevy 350..

Okay, is that time from a 1/8th slip? I had a 99 GST, and bone stock with at least a Cone Filter, I ran 9.7's on the 1/8th. Now with a 2.5 turbo back exhaust, type S, MBC set to 15 lbs. I got down to a 9.2. (STOCK T-too small all the way!!!!) I don't remember my 60's. You dont need an AWD or Rotary or even RWD to go where you wanna go. Just need to be focused on getting there. The car will make it !!! Just gotta get that launch down and play with tire pressure. My goal was to break into the 8's on the 1/8th with the T-25. Maybe you can do it now! :thumb:

I am not trying to bash on you or whatever but I think u need to learn how to drive better.

Aye i know i need more practice and that was in middle 90's temps as well, but track is 500 something feet, so that's nice. Launching is a bi***, doesn't spin much but it will nose down (bog) the first 330 then just go. So i can tell i'm losing some time there, but I slipped clutch at 2500, 2800, 3000, 3200, still same thing.

A turbo FWD car ( not just dsms ) is in my opinion, VERY hard to drag. I have driven 50k miles and a about a dozen 1/4 runs at the local strip, and I still do not have my lauch/ 60ft times where they could be every time. There are FWD people on here who can claim 5x the experience as me and still are not happy either. They are difficult to learn, but rewarding to master. The power is there, it can just be difficult to harness it. You could b*tch out and get a easier car, or you with years of clutch breaking practice you can become the DSM dark ninja drag master. It is like searching for enligtenment. :dsm:
