There something not right there. You should be running faster than that. I would start with a BLT. Then I would do a compression test.

ok thanks, uhm mods are Ebay 16g, Hallman MBC at 11 psi, KnN filter, 2.5-3" Straight pipe and GT High flow exhaust manifold............

Also, learn how to drive. Not to sound like an a$$, but you need to learn to launch the car.

this was the first time launching this car, i never tracked my 92 gsx, but my 96 gsx i ran 14.9 consistent. still not good, but a whole sec to two sec faster.............

Well, I have gotten better 60ft's then you have listed with my friends stock 03 mach1 with street tires, the first time I drove the car actually. And I have gotten way better 60ft's with my car both now and when it was stock.

The rule of thumb is, if you lower your 60ft time by .1 second you will lower your ET by .2 seconds.

I'm just saying you can lower your time considerably by launching better.

i was trying to figure out that ratio of 60' to 1/4 times............idk what my 60' was for the first run of 15.9...........

Don't feel too bad, well unless your manual. Are you btw? I'm auto and have the current mods in my profile and it was my 2nd time on the track, but ran 1: 16.9 and than 2: 16.5 . On the first run I did beat an 07 Si but I think he was a terrible driver to run a 17.6 and lose to me. Anywho, this was with brake boosting but I couldn't time the tree right and was leaving the line with 5-6 psi. A friend told me later to not go by the tree, since we were there for times only, and just leave the line when you get to your desired psi. Of course this would only be for time trials and not a straight up race. Let me know if this is wrong going about it like this.?.

Sorry I think I ranted there but really I think more seat time will help you.

Lesson I learned: More seat time!

:dsm:

Edit: Do you have a logger? Each run I do at the track I log. I know at the top of 3rd I'm getting quite a bit of knock, so that didn't help at all.

yes i am manual, galant vr4 only came in manual as far as i know. anywas i have a logger, and the car was light tuned with a safc using o2 voltage....

That's what I figured that VR4's only came manual but wasn't sure. Hmmm... Seems your times got worse, so maybe your stock SMIC is on its way, meaning its hella dirty, dented up and other not good things. It could be heat-soaking. Boost leaks will kill too. How's your maintenance?

:dsm:

Woops, just noticed your picture has a front mount. Well, ... do you? Can you update your profile or is it up to date?

Oh my 60'fts were 2.6's...:barf: Yes, not good either. But I'm ok with all of this because now I know I have a 16 sec. car and not a 15 sec. car like I thought I did. Lots of work to do.

Yeah i would definitely get some more race time(faster 60' and shifts) Make sure your car is up to par(boost leaks, compression, etc) I wouldnt really expect much more than 15s on 11psi. You say you have an safc and logger. I would say rewire your fuel pump and maybe a better intercooler and tune it at 15-16psi until you get bigger injectors and some other mods. Also you should be tuning for knock more than 02 if you dont have a wideband.

will do, I will turn boost up, log and add or deplete fuel when necessary, what would you put boost at if you didnt rewire the pump?

Don't 2.0L NT's run 16's?

Yeah, but he may have some boost leak issues. Leaks greaty hinder the car from full potential. I ran 15.2's with my old fwd Eclipse and after replacing the injector seals, I was then running 14.4's. I still had throttle body shaft seal leaks at the time as well. Also, like a lot of people say, more seat time will help his track times.

thanks guys. I will do a BLT, Turn the boost up, log knock and tune according........Mike Tuned my car and he said it might be rich knock, but he said WOT I have 3 counts.....

Get a wideband.... You're getting 3 counts of knock at WOT @ 11psi with a FMIC?? Something is wrong here. Granted 3 counts is not a lot but still you shouldn't be having any (0) knock at 11psi even on the stock fuel system.

I would definitely rewire the fuel pump, here are differences rewired and stock
RRE Instructions
Start looking into some injectors, I wouldnt go any bigger than 550cc with only the safc, which can be had very cheap. With a fuel pump, 550cc injectors and the fmic, you should have enough fuel and tuning for 20-22psi and should be capable of some good times.
You may also want to begin to look into a eprom chip with timing/fuel and stutterbox and much more!
