Hi, I tuned the car for him. He had 10 counts of knock only running 10 psi but he was creeping to 15psi around 6000 rpm. I added a few percent fuel where knock was occuring and after a certain amount of fuel nothing would help the 3 knock counts in the higher rpms. He has a very bad fuel cut/ missing symptom at 6000 rpms and I beleive that is causing the knock sensor to go off maybe. If I had more time I'd try to get it running good, hell, rewire the fuel pump, get some 660's and I'd give you a hell of a tune. Come down to Cali sometime. You won't leave until you run a 13!!!


Umm I ran 13's with less. stock fuel no logging and the only thing I had was a cat back exhaust 16g and MBC. 13.9's.

now the 91 should be alot faster. cant wait until the snow is gone.
 
idk whats wrong with my car then, im working on getting hard pipes for my IC setup which should be in two weeks, and I am looking for my Evo IX punp in the garage..........then I got to change my ECU...Thanks guys.......
 
Like everyone else here I would suggest doing a boost leak test. Everyone keeps saying your 60' is bad, which it is. However, your mph matches you ET which leads me to believe you are down on power. If you have a way of monitoring airflow, that could help find your problem possibly.

I don't know how much you can trust a ebay turbo to have the performance you expect.
 
I took my GVR4 to the dragstrip after installing a AFPR and a walbro 255... I was running the base fuel pressure a little high :( and ran a 19.2. That was my first time at the track, didn't have a chance to practice launching as I don't street race. I had a horrible 60', I threw the time slip away.

even for an Ebay 16g, I would expect it to be atleast in the 14's range, not 16s.........

You don't need to street race to practice launching a car.

Set your fuel pressure it to 40 PSI.

I did the same with a shitty exhaust (apexi) and stock turbo :D.

Shoot that VR4, put it out of it's misery :p
 
i ran a 16.3 at 10 psi, which is closer to my 15.9 with 14 psi. my 60ft was 2.2 and i still have boost leaks. I had new tires this time and an Alignment. but my boy Tre3zy on the forum ran a 15.1 at 12 psi. but his car doesnt have boost leaks. I still feel slow.
 
Don't feel too slow. The best I have ran is 16.1@86mph LOL
 
Wow, my moms auto v6 impala went a 16.2 when i took it to the track as a joke in highschool.
 
well i didnt do to good this weekend either i ran a 16.181 in a quarter i have a 98 eclipse gst with automatic tranny all stock except for free mods muffler and headers car has 208,000 miles

Dont feel bad, a 2.2 60ft is alright. Track conditions, can play a big role in the time a person can run. Where i live there are fully built 35r srt's running 12.0's all day, and stock ls1camaros running 14's. What im saying its not the driver always, it might be the track, altitude, or a number of things.
 
i was trying to figure out that ratio of 60' to 1/4 times............idk what my 60' was for the first run of 15.9...........

Whats up man... yes somethin seems wrong for sure.. but dont beet yourself up over it.. do a couple tests on your car.. BLT compression check... jus to be sure.. there has to be some sort of boost leak... The more you drive your car you will get the feel of it... slowly but surely you will become one with your car :p

The best i ran was a 13.9 @105 with a 2.5 60ft....

not sure what ill run now that im tuned and running high boost....
