i'm looking to buy a gst, but the owner says it needs a fuel pump, is this a pretty easy and inexpensive thing to fix? haha

thanks for replies :D

The difficulty depends on if it is a 1g or a 2g. For a 2g it is a 10-15 minute job and if you are at all careful you wont even get dirty.

For a 1g the job is a bit harder but still relatively easy compared to other cars.

As for cost you can end up paying anything from free to around $100 depending on what you want. Simply a replacement stock pump from another local DSMer isn't going to cost you much. A new Warlboro 255hp with o-rings and whatever else is in an "install kit" will cost around $80-$90. You could go bigger but for the majority of DSMers a 255 is more than they'll ever use. However, using a 255lph pump will also require a new aftermarket fuel pressure regulator which can run anywhere from $120 used to $200+ new. A 190lph Warlboro or an evo9 fuel pump will likely not require a new AFPR. Don't bother with an evo8 pump because they have a pressure relief valve that opens at ~67psi or when your boost hits the low 20psi range and that just isn't good for anyone.
