1G Fuel pump?

The car when you first press gas barely goes. it sputters. and when you get to 3k rpm then it runs great. does that sound like fuel pump to you or what do you think. Its a 91 eclipse gsx. stock turbo. no mods

No it doesn't. Sounds like it needs maintenance including a boost leak test.
If you don't have a 1G datalogger, get one.

well the guy said his mechanic said its either fuel pump going out or air sensor. I didnt think fuel pumps slowly go out. dont they just go out. it either they work or they dont. Thats what i thought

Maintenance is good, Sounds like the MAF. Fuel filter, Ignition, Bad 02, TPS,Boost leaks, Vacuum leaks, ETC...

+1 MAF i have a 90 tsi that i jsut bought 5 days ago and idt was doin the same thing i changed the plugs the wires and there wasnt any boost leaks, so i changed MAF's and she runs great now

NiddyDSM i have the same spit and sputter problem but i have changed the maf and checked the screw and for vacuum leaks but i still cant seem to find the problem but im soo lost...... help

change your fuel filter and do a boost leak test. Sounds like maybe a vaccum line came loose?

do a leak test and look at your maf makes sure its all good like plugs,honey comb, ect.

If its not your MAF REALLY check for vacuum leaks. grab some carb cleaner and spray around intake and all ICP. it definitely sounds like a vacuum leak.
