hello guys.. I went to the threads but it seems i cannot get an answer for my question. i tried to check also the vfaq but still it is not there.

I bought walbro 190 lph to complement my 16gturbo. but i still have the stock injectors. my new mechanic told me that i should rewire my pump. is it advisable to rewire it and if so why? is there any big difference. my other mechanic just installed the pump without rewiring . pls give me some views on this ones. and also my battery is not anymore in pretty shape. shall i bought new one before rewiring it.

please help.. thanks a lot

Rewiring is not required but a good idea. If you rewire it you will get its full potential.

Or an external pump. Yep, whining is normal. Usually my exhaust drowns it out, unless the pump is in one of it's "weird moods" where it likes to whine extremely loud. Sometimes I can hear my 255 from a few cars away.

Its not that loud. actually you cannot hear it if you will not give attention into it. besides i only have the 190 lph.

and also for a quick question. my battery voltage is somehow low now as it is only giving me 12.5-13 volts. does it affect the performance of my pump. just a newbie question sorry guys.

if your alternator is good and your pulley and belt are good, you should be able to disconnect the battery while the car is running and it should still run.

i would not try that.

I know exactly what he's talking about.

Some people think that it is ok to test your alternator by starting the car and then pulling the battery cable from the positive terminal, saying that if the car remains running that the alternator is good.

Like he said, this is a bad idea because the alternator can load dump and spike the whole electrical system with >100v and even if it doesn't, the battery filters the alternator output and the AC ripple on the output will again flow through the whole electrical system. Both of these can damage the ECU and other electronics in the car.

LOL thanks on the info. i guess i shouldnt listen to what my v8 driving teachers taught me, i didnt really learn much from them anyways except how to change a accessory belt on a blazer in under a minute.
