fuel pump

Ok, the previous wner of the car told me he had a 255lph pump in it. Is there anyway to tell without actually taking the pump out? I figured the 255 would make more noise than the stocker but I cant even really hear the fuel pump. I dont want to run more boost and lean the motor out with the stock pump

No there's no way to know w/out pulling it. They are generally louder but not always. Either pull it out and look at it (make sure you soak the bolts in pb blaster everyday for a couple days before) or get a wideband and a logger and make sure you don't go lean.

Hooking up a fuel pressure gauge and checking for overrun could give you a vague idea of if it is an aftermarket pump but not exactly which one. Pull it out and check.

I agree there would be no way to tell without visually inspecting the pump.

There would be no way of telling unless you supplied the recommended voltage for these pumps at full duty cycle and ran the pump for 15 minutes. You would measure what the pumps output would be but this would be tedious.
Just turning the key and trying to measure would be inaccurate due to the fact you don't if the previous owner did the rewire for the pump, this would dramatically affect the pumps output. JMO

Going thru all that, you might as well just pull the pump.

I've got a logger and everything so if I run it lean I can back the boost off. I guess i'll just pull it and check.
