I remember that sale.

I remember reading the other day someone saying that turbo's will be going up in price. But i never thought this much. Wow!
Forced Performance Turbochargers: Mitsubishi EVO III 16g Turbo
Kind of sucks since i was thinking of trying out the evo3.
How many of you have to change your build plans now?

Looks like the donor parts for the 68HTA will likely be outsourced at some point in the near future as they were for the 18G-6SL2.
The 68HTA were all MHI-based when 16G's probably cost FP $400 a pop....they'd install their billet wheel, machine the cover, rebalance the turbo on a VSR, and sell it for $900. Now that the Evo III's are $1450 alone, there'll never sell a single 68HTA if they add the same $400 to the price tag of a 16G that they have in years past.

Thread already up; tells you why as well.
Why did you post a link of this thread in this thread?

I think it's funny to see some people affraid to run a rebuilt turbo. It's as if there's some performance difference between a new one and a properly rebuilt/restored one.
If you really care about what you spend on parts, then there's really no need to be buying a brand new 16G anyway (unless it's dirt cheap).
Because it used to be in another thread and got merged to where I linked
