Well, I'm curious so I'm making a thread. I searched but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for so now I'm reaching out to the land of Tuners.

Does anyone have first-hand experience with a DSMGreen on BOTH an FP Race Manifold vs the OEM 2G Exhaust Manifold(ported or not, doesn't matter)? How was spool up? Full boost rpm? Top end on both? General characteristics?

I have a 2G Exhaust Manifold here and I love it...but I must admit I am tempted to just go FP Race Manifold so I can make less torque down low, trying my best to keep this transmission alive. But, lemme know your experience please! Logs/dyno numbers, perhaps even videos welcome!

While not with the Green I’ve ran them back to back with a 16g and the difference from the driver seat isn’t noticeable. I’d say if you have the ported 2g job already and it isn’t cracked throw that bad Johnson on it, difference won’t likely be noticeable from the driver seat and definitely not big enough to save or grenade a trans as far as torque difference.

That's what I like to hear. I have to grind the ear off of the right side of it to fit the 1G, and it's not ported, but both of those are easily rectified. I was just curious if the hubbub was actually true or if it's negligible. I'll probably stick with the 2G deal unless something drastic happens with this one. Plus I won't have to buy an expensive AF heatshield for it. Lol.

I will say my buddy Darren ran a ported 2g manifold with his Green on a Galant GSX, if I recall still had no problem getting it into the high 400s on a heartbreaker Mustang dyno with @coltboostin on the keyboard. The FP manifold is a nice piece as you already know but I can’t say I’d feel like the difference would be noticeable enough even in that situation to justify the cost.

I'm convinced. I would be 100% happy with 380ish AWHP on Pump 93 and it be safe/reliable. High 400's is way beyond my goals. Lol.

  • If you plan on driving the car on the street at all, 2G / Evo III manifold w/ collector ported to 60mm.
  • If you plan on doing nothing but racing, FP Race Manifold (hence the name).
  • If the car is an auto, 2G / Evo III manifold for either type of driving.
