FMIC Install

Hey guys, im looking to install my FMIC soon.
Here's what i plan to do.

Remove:
- air filter / intake pipe / MAS
- Radiator / Fan / Hoses
- Stock SMIC / piping
- front bumper
- misc. things

Some of you be wondering why i removing some of those things, im just trying to make it easier to install the IC and piping.

The hardest part (i think), will be making the piping fit and what not. There is a lot of piping i got with my kit, so i plan on fabricating it to make it short route.

Does anyone have any advice before i tackle this next project. Like always with DSM's, the more info the better.

iTS always good to take everything out, i usually take out more stuff than necessary just to make things that much easier and not to mention cleaner

Im guessing you got universal piping? What i would do is cut to fit and have them welded to minimize coupler use... you'll think yourself when looking for boost leaks or when you dont blow couplers off

I already have a GM-MAF, i was wondering if i should install it with the new setup, that way when i get the translator down the road i can just hook everything up and be good to go.

Im also thinking im going to have a problem hooking up the piping from the turbo to the inter-cooler, when i look at my t-25, where it is and what not, i have NO IDEA how im going to get the piping around everything to the IC.

I love that thread. How much extra piping do you have? I might be needing to buy some if the deal I'm working on falls through.



EDIT: I would also leave the radiator in while you do this so that you can work around it. And did you buy a j-pipe for a fmic?

The kit came with a J-Pipe, but since im using a t-25 at the moment, im not sure how that would work out.

Ok, this was a huge failure...

There's no way im going to be able to get piping from the turbo to the FMIC, with the way the t-25 is set up, so what im going to do is wait until i upgrade my turbo.
