She did part the car out. I forget the reason, but it was a good one. I know this, because that brake set up is sitting in my basement for my next car. :D They are very nice.

I do a lot of browsing. I believe Bobby passed some info on to you. Sounds like you're getting ready to have some fun.

Nice brakes, but not just to cruise around the streets with, hope you plan on taking the car to a track:thumb: Otherwise you wasted your money...

Yes, he did, thanks. However, don't think I'll go that route. Nice, but I'm not into fabbing brake lines etc. For what I'm doing, it's also unneccessary. At least for now.

We'll see. Not sure what's in store this year. Don't have much time for working on cars anymore.

After spectating a at Lime Rock several times with a friend of mine who's a Club member and riding with him on the track and taking his Cayman S on the auto cross track, I would really like to get a bit more involved. I have a rather clean shell and a nice collection of parts for a nice build. I do plan to have the car streetable, but would really like to get into some track and auto cross events. I got a great deal on the brakes too. I'm looking to use the DSM platform, because I've been around them for so damn long and its something I can afford.

You realize, you could probably pick up the kit from STM with braided brake lines and wouldn't really need to fab up new lines. Or to shave a bit of weight, try a single diaphragm booster.

That would be cool! Do it!

I've wanted to flare my Talon too. I had Ireland Engineering E30 flares that I was gonna try to make work, but I bailed on the idea. I don't really like the Z style rivet ons, dsm fenders are more oval than round and so I think, if anything ever, sheetmetal work, no add on flares...

I have a car with a Baer kit Baer Claw Track Brake System (1G DSM) - Modern Automotive Performance with 530hp, and a 600+hp car with Stoptechs. Both running the same pad compound. The Stoptechs are worth the extra coin, even for street use. I also was running another car, 660hp with stock 2g brakes ROFL and I definitely do not recommend that except for the dragstrip.

hi,

do u have photos with all process to put overfenders on 1g dsm? (from start to end) ;)

Looks like a pretty hot set-up. However I had it in my mind that I'd be going with Wilwood set ups, front and rear, from TCE. My awd with full cage will most likely still weigh in under 2300 lbs.

Anyway, back on topic, any new developments on flare options?

I'm pretty sure I'm gonna have sheet metal work done instead off add-on flares, at least for the front fenders.

Here is a teaser shot of what the flares will look like filled in to match the body and painted. Granted they are still bolt on style but between the hood vents and naca ducts...it's a rivet on kinda car. Anyway the wheels in the picture are a +35 offset and tucked fine without the flares. More pics/writeup to follow with the +22 wheels bolted up.

Looking good cioc - I like the gap filling at the bumpers. That was always one of those things that mildly annoyed me. Given the other issues my car had though I was never that concerned about the little details, but glad you found a solution for it.

What width and diameter wheels are you running?

Track Rims (Pics in previous posts) are 17" X 9.0" in a +22 offset running on 265/45/17 tires.

Street Rims are 17" X 8.0" in a +38 offset running on 235/45/17 tires. These need a 31mm spacer as they sit now however I'm going up to a 255 on the street so I will be purchasing a 21mm spacer instead.

Finally finished with the flares and paint. There is still some room for growth with tires however I think I will be plenty busy with these.

hey, what filler did you use for those flares? they are the same 240z flares right? Also, I'm plasti-dipping my car soon and im wondering if i can just use the filler, plasti dip over it and expect it to last.

Wow, looks pretty sick! I have some 17 x 9s for my AWD and had thought about doing flares at some point. However, Ludachris runs the same wheels without flares so far.
