Nova,
forgot firing order. 1990 4G63T.
call the cylander farthest on the passenger side #1. and call the ignition tower farthest from the firewall #1.

thanks

Hmmm....
I was looking at the illustration in the Chiltons manual. Sorry, I'm separated from my car for a few hours or I would check.
Anyone else?

I have a Haynes Manual but it list the same firing order for all turbo 95-99 and everyone says that 95 is different from 96-99. My car is a 95 and had a 98 ecu in it when i bought it. I now have the correct 95 eprom ecu in the car and i need to correct the firing order.

Thanks,

Looks like you have it but I figured Id just add for future searches.

With the waste spark its pretty easy to find the order with some moving around seeing as 1 and 4 are together and 2 and 3 are together on the same coil.

left to right facing the motor 4321

why did it change from the 1g to the 2g?

1,3,4,2 also i fthe firing order changed to 4,3,2,1 then the coils must be wired up differently as it makes no sense for the coil to fire 1,2,2,1 you don't get the charging time.

Is this correct about the 2g I honestly don't know. But if it is could somebody tell me which cylinders are on which coil.

BTW 4,3,2,1 would be crappy for vibration and crank bending reasons...hmmmm

i mean - lookin at the motor left to right the far left cyl is #4 then 3,2,1 near the t-belt.
i supose that dont help much - from what i remember it didnt change from 1g-2g entirely
it just changed in 95-96 1g-a,b is the same as 2g-b

OMG how does a timing question get to difficult....if your looking at your motor from the front of the car the cylinders are numbered from left to right 4 to 1 (1 is right next to the timing belt)...as far as hooking up your spark plug wires....if you are looking at the coil from the drivers side of the care the order is 4123 (4 is the closest to the valve cover and it works its way back)

Ok here is the deal i just put in a 1g block on my 2g head, i have a 90 CAS sensor wich will be wired in.

I have some doubts on the plugs order and firing order.

To be more specific:
Plug order on the head?
Plug order on the coil pack?
Firing order?

Remember this is a 1g block on a 2g head.

Also do i need to rewire the inyectors???

Thanks!!!

ok let's see if i've got everything right
Ok so i;m using a 90 CAS because i'm swapping the block to a 6-bolt, so it's:
On the coil pack:
4123
This is from driver side to passenger side( 4 being first cilinder in driver side and 3 being last on passenger side?
Is this the firing order?
and that's all i need to change?

I read i had to change:
Plug order on the head
Plug order on the coil pack
Firing order

Could someone walk me trough what i have to do so i can clearly explain to my mechanic.

Also do i need to re-wire the inyectors or what not??

Thanks

I already posted this once but here it is again.

The #1 cylinder is on the drivers side closest to the t-belt, the #4 cylinder is on the passenger side closest to the tranny.

Plug order on the coil pack is

from front of car to back of car - 4 1 2 3

firing order - 4 1 2 3

Can you understand that?
