Was that a joke? Because you have it upside down.

It should be 3, 2, 1, 4 from top the bottom according to your diagram.
shit, I was thinking about what I did in my car, not what your supposed to do. let me edit that.

/\ that picture up there is what I did. Ill delete it once I have the correct one up.

Hello. First time posting...
Trying to help a friend out with her car, 1997 Eclipse. I don't know a thing about Mitsubishi motors.
Can anyone please tell me the firing order? What number one cylinder is on the block and distributor?
It has no plug wires in the car. I'm totally blind on this, could anyone help? Much appreciated.

Thanks for all of the help guys.
Troy, I appreciate the diagram you came up with.
I've never worked on a 4 cylinder motor, first time for everything I guess. It's running better than ever.
I'm going back to my small block Chevy motor.
Thanks again!

how is it going iam a newbie to this site i have a problem umhh my 95 eclipse turbo has spark to pistons 2 & 3 not 1 & 4 i need some advice from you guys i checked my coils my connections and other basic things that you can spot on your own checked my injectors wires for any cracks i bought a pcm but does the same thing a mechanic just overhauled my 4g63t dont know what the problem is anybody with advice welcomed thanks for your time:dsm:

Try swapping in a different coil pack. The firing order is 4-1-2-3, 1-4 being the same coil and 2-3 being the same coil. I had one coil go bad on my coil pack so I bought a coil on plug. But in your case just swap in out for a known good one and see if that works.

If you actually really tested (or swapped) your coils and they are good, next test the power transistors. Here's how:

(Note: The pin numbers for the following are the ones on the power transistor side connector – not the ones on the harness side connector (for which I put the wire color in parenthesis for reference).

Unplug the power transistor 8 pin connector.

To test the power transistor for cylinders 1 & 4:
Connect the negative side of a 1.5V battery to pin 3 (black wire) of the connector. Connect the negative side of a 12V battery also to pin 3. Connect the 12V battery positive to one side of a 12V light bulb. Connect the other side of the 12V light bulb to pin 8 (black/white). The light should not be on. Now connect the 1.5V battery positive to pin 7 (black/blue). The light should go on.

To test the power transistor for cylinders 2 & 3:
Connect the negative side of a 1.5V battery to pin 3 (black wire) of the connector. Connect the negative side of a 12V battery also to pin 3. Connect the 12V battery positive to one side of a 12V light bulb. Connect the other side of the 12V light bulb to pin 1 (blue/black). The light should not be on. Now connect the 1.5V battery positive to pin 2 (brown/red). The light should go on.
