I am planning on buying some bigger injectors soon, and want to know which brand is a better choice, or are they about the same for quality and reliability. I'm planning to get some in the 650cc range.

They're the same build quality-- the only difference is that if you get them from FIC they make sure to flow match a set before they send them out to you. I'm not saying other places DON'T do this, but you can be sure that FIC does. I got a set of PTEs off eBay, however, and have not had any problems with them. They did come with a flow sheet, but since it was from some eBay vendor, I can't be quite as sure that it's accurate.

I have a set of pte 680cc's I bought from extremepsi and def havent had any problems with them. They've been on my car for about a year and a half. I'm also looking into getting some 1000cc and was kind of wandering the same thing. I saw a chart of both injectors and it said that the pte's dont actually put out the same amount as the size. Can anybody else elaborate on this?

Wow this thread is ancient. Some companies rate their injector's flow rates at different pressures, this is where you gut different ratings (like 650cc/min vs 680cc/min.)

They just don't flow as well as they say they do. That's it. I have always run FIC over any other brand. They flow match there's to within 1% of each injector in the set and they actually flow what they are rated at or more. I prefer the FIC 1150cc's.

Busted. PTE measures the flow rate at 36psi. So a set of 550cc injectors, on a 2g that runs a base of 43.5 will net 580cc.

Err, right. How am I busted now? You accused them of not flowing as well...they are simply tested at different pressures.

Thats funny HOW?
Almost all the PTE 680 and FIC 640 injectors i've seen Where the Same Delfi injector...

Not sure where you got this info from, PTE tests their injectors at a higher then industry standard. So what they say they'll flow is actually less then they actually when running a base FP of 43.5psi (which is the industry standard). PTE & FIC injectors are manufactured by the same company the difference is in the pintle tip. Ever wonder why PTE's are always X80's, while the same FIC's are X50's?

I meant I was busted not you. And I found that information through searching. Multiple threads stated this.

For further postmortem equine desecration. . . Most guys have to run their global settings in ecmlink at less correction for PTE injectors vs. FIC injectors. Less correction means less flow.

But i also will bet money that if you ran 50psi of base pressure with the PTE's and 43.5 with the FIC's they would flow just about the same.

pte is all that i will run for years and the local dsm shop they said that is all they will ever use they have some of the fastest imports in Kansas and is the first import in Kansas to hit 11's and that was a 11.2 1/4 mile and have been using them for like 10-15 years and they swear on them , they will do any thing custom and any motor swap i would have to say the best dsm shop ever , they started in a 2 car garage and back then they still said pte, the shop name is fusion works racing

ive run both fic and pte both worked great had no issues. I do like the pte ones better for one reason. i can use the stock lower injectors seals on them the fics you could not
