PTE INJECTORS!!! do it, or not.

No problems here but they do flow less then FIC and some other. For example 1000cc injectors might flow at 980cc or around there.

  • PTE --------- 580 ---- 180 (535cc flow)
    PTE --------- 680 ---- 300 (640cc flow)
    PTE --------- 780 ---- 315 (748cc flow)
    PTE --------- 880 ---- 420 (840cc flow)
    PTE --------- 1000 --- ??? (940cc flow)

The difference in flow is because PTE uses higher fuel pressure to flow test their injectors, than other manufacturers (making them seem bigger)

Get the FIC's, they flow 10cc more, and have 90 less usec deadtime.

If those are truely PTE 550s I wouldn't get them, they would be roughly a 40-60cc higher flow than your stock 450s. Which isn't much of an upgrade anyways.

VERY VERY Helpful information!! Rep points for you

FIC has been a trusted name in the DSM community for years and has an unbeatable reputation.

We flow test each injector to ensure accurate flow. All FIC injectors come with Viton upper and lower seals ($25 value). The o-ring placement on other brands allow the injector to push against the fuel rail and extend 1/4" to far into the fuel rail without any cushion. FIC seals are located to allow the injector to seal and have a cushion against the fuel rail. Our Viton seals will stand up to much more heat and boost without failing.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions regarding FIC injectors.

actually PTE test their injector at 43psi. so let's say pte flow 1000cc at 43psi, but on 1g they would flow at 940-950cc because our stock fuel pressure is 37psi.

anyways, i run 1kcc injector from pte, and no problems eather. so they got my vouch!

what if the base fuel pressure was raised say from 37 psi to 41 or somewhere in that area, which would be better pte or fic? Im thinking after I get my safc2 i want to get some 650s or something bigger but not too big... I probably wont go bigger than an super16g...

Does raising the fp on the injectors shorten their lifespand?
Because Ive considered running the n/t 4g63s fpr because it flows 10psi more which would be like 47psi, and therefore was told that would make even stock 450s flow more like a rate of 505ccs....(but the thing is im not sure if the n/t fpr raises fuel pressure on a 1:1 ratio with the raising of boost, so I dont know how it performs on a turbo car, even though I have heard many dsmers using it.) But I will eventually get a afpr but I was thinking of this because I want to crank the boost a little more since I have a while before running safc and bigger injectors...

N/T FPR has worked great thus far, but I'm pretty sure we compensated for the raised base fuel pressure in the chip.

Off topic: Nightspeed87 I tried pming you but I don't think it worked, Are you on any local boards?

On a stock set up with no afcs or chips, how do you believe a n/t fpr will perform...
( The car will probably run pig rich huh... Even with a hacked mass and raised boost. )
And I was wondering does that shorten the injector life by greatly raising fp....

The fuel Injectors won't mind. Is this a stock Fuel Pump? Turbo or Non Turbo Pump? What are you trying to boost to(PSI)?
