So I just fabbed up a manifold to use my Evo IX turbo and now I dont believe im gunna be able to run any puller style fans so im going to change to 2 pusher style fans on the front of the radiator...

Been trying to decide on which fan to get and how man cfm's to run and so far ive come up with I would like to have 1700-2000cfm's..

I can get a great deal on 2 Evo VIII/IX AC fans but not sure what they are rated at or if they would do the job of cooling...

What do you guys think cause I dont want any overheating problems as I just put a 2.3L and all this fab work haha Still using the stock radiator though....
 
Have you looked at how much space you will have to mount these? I also run a SPAL 12" pusher (1,230 CFM) on the drivers side, and there really isn't much space there to fit a large fan shroud without extensive trimming.

Corey - do you still have A/C on yours? You might be able to fit a larger shroud if the condenser is gone and you mount it right to the front of the radiator.
 
Corey, you need some duct work. Check out my journal entry. My fans hardly come on at all now running around 186*. 12" 1630 SPAL pulled passenger side and a 9" 703 SPAL pusher on the driver side mounted to the ac condenser.

What are your temps with the A/C on with your set-up?
 
Haven't tested it yet because I think my refrigerant leaked out some how. It no longer gets cold after the rebuild.
 
That makes a big difference. I still have my ac installed and run the stock radiator pulley fan and the 12" pusher SPAL. With the AC off and only the stock fan in use, temps usually hover around 200-203.

With the AC on and both fans running, it's around 210-216. I should probably get some ducting too.
 
I might be able to fit a smaller 10" max diameter on the passenger side but on the driver side I have maybe 1"- 1.5" or space

With the single stocker ac fan on the passenger engine side my temps sat around 200 idling but it ran alot and I have no AC, SSAC FMIC, stock cast Evo 3 manifold with JMF heatshield, and 14b turbo...

I will now have custom tubular manifold ceramic coated, Evo VIII turbo, SS o2 housing ceramic coated, and atleast the 12" 1650 fan mounted on front of radiator and fan temps will be controlled via ECUFlash and set to keep the car between 178-195...

I was thinking of going with a big 12" 1650cfm fan and then another maybe 8-10" 700cfm fan both mounted on the front of the radiator as I believe you stated in another thread 2000cfm is plenty to keep the car cool

**Also if this is not enough I will swap to a Aluminum radiator then maybe making a hood vent like "GIXRMAN" did as I really like the look and functionallity of it and if that is not enough maybe some bumper vents like STM did just 2 of them on each side..
