External wastegate

Looked at a GSX and the wastegate was welded onto the side of the headers. Where it was welded was cracked, so obviously needs new headers, possibly new wastegate. My question is what are other locations to put the wastegate. I want to put it somewhere safe where this wont happen again. Ideas/comments?

What turbo and downpipe is on there? And what wastegate?

You can put it on the exhaust manifold, on the o2 housing, or swap to internal waste gate. I run mine off the manifold and that one probably cracked due to it being a cheap manifold. You could bring it somewhere and get it welded. Mine cracked where the waste gate attached to the manifold (cheap manifold) so I brought it to MAP and they welded the crack and the welds look better than what came on it originally.

I'm pretty sure DSMs have just 1 head, so why would it have headers?

If its already welded and was cracked precious, I would just run it. Replace it if it cracks again.

Yes, reweld where it is cracked.

Depends on turbo, boost level ect. Just look it up on here, it will help u make ## decision.
