So my new Turbo is externally gated and just bought a tial knock off but I'm running a 2g manifold. Does anyone have a suggestion on where I should mount the gate and where I can get a flange at.

What turbo are you currently running? it doesnt say in your profile.

Since you have a 2g manifold I am going to assume that the turbo has a mitsu style housing. The housing on a mitsu turbo has a flapper door that you can leave open or weld shut, dependent on what external wastegate setup you want to run.

People either choose to run their external wastegate off the manifold or on the o2 housing of the turbo.

Also what type of wastegate is it? What style flange doe is have? 38mm, 38 MVS 44mm. It might require an adapter to run off certain manifolds.

If you have a 38mm external wastegate this might be an option you want to pursue. You can either recirculate or dump to atmosphere

You can also run the same set up with a 38MVS, dumped or recirculated.
I am currently running the MAPerformance 38MVS recirculated.

the attached is the manifold most people use to run an external wastegate with a mitsu style turbo, this requires the Wastegate flapper door to be welded shut.

The Turbo is a pte 5031e it's Mitsubishi flanged and the PO welded the flapper shut, my wastegate is a 38mm 2 bolt style flange. Thanks for the links and all the help.

OK so I'm in the process of welding a flange to my 2g manifold but I was wondering if I have to use tubing that is the same size as the bottom of the wastegate or can I use smaller tubing? And the tubing I'm talking about would connect the flange to the manifold.
