Evo 8 ECU In 2g Works!!

I'm not running it, it is generally considered a PITA because it can change the A/F ratio by up to 1 point and wreak havoc on you tune. I would suggest leaving it off.

On every evo I tuned, I turned off the lean spool.

What kind of options do I have for changing to other roms?

Any evo 8 rom can be loading into your Evo ECU. here is some post from this thread, describing use of diferent ROMs

Just download a different rom image then upload it to your ecu after making the necessary changes. 96530006 seems to be the favorite. Hardware-wise I think all 4plug evo8 ecus are identical or at least very similar.

Its only one guy, hamish. Hes very busy, as I believe he has a regular job, in addition to evoscan. He should get back to you within a week. How long has it been?

umm like 4 days..... mitsulogger is kool but wen i open it and have to set the injector cc and dead time and latency ... i really have no clue what to put since im running my stock 450cc... so yea... i dont want to use it with wrong data and it gives me funky logs...

i haven't used mitsulogger myself but you should just be able to open ecu flash and look at the tables for the injector deadtime, latence, and size and enter exactly what you have into mitsulogger.

My 1.3 cable has been dead for about a month now (so haven't been able to try out the new SD patch), anyone know where i can get it inspected/fixed?

How long have you had it? Did you get it from Evoscan? Unless it's been a really long time, I'd try get warranty on it. My cousin got one from Evoscan, and it died a painful death in a very short time (totally fried inside and stunk a lot), and he got a new one - no charge.

His email is probably flooded all the time; it's easy to lose track of emails when you have a lot of them. Submit a support ticket on his website and message him on EvolutionM.

Send another support ticket as well. I sent one for my cousin before, and he had to end up sending it a second time, then he heard back right away. Give a day & a half or two days for a response and try again if you don't hear back. I'm sure he's quite busy with Evo stuff, and I would bet he also has a real job or owns an electronics or car business or something. He took care of my cousin well after finally getting a hold of him.

So, does someone feel like posting up a base rom (and xml) for a 2g with the necessary stuff for stock 450cc injectors, 2g MAF, and any other odd ball things to get it to run on a 2g?

Then, people can have a base to work with. I'm getting my Evo 8 ECU sometime this week (mailed Sat) and I don't have much time for downtime since this is my DD.

What rom seems to be working best on the 97's?


And hediki12, I think you bought that ECU right before me. From AllYouCanTiff on evolutionm.net right? He sold it 3 hours before I PM'd him. I ended up getting mine for $125 shipped.

There are a good amount of mods & xml additions with this rom, and it's now considered a pretty much universal rom for Evo 8 ECU's. Go with the tephramod rom while you're at it even if you're not using the mods, since it's the easy way to be able to log load.

• Disabled the immobilizer by setting periphery bit 0 hex to 56D2.

Have you made sure that you have the user level set to developer?

Yep. I didn't have the tephra mod xml file in the right spot. I can now see all the fun stuff.

No, that car would have a 1g style harness and computer.

They are very similar, basically 1g/2g/vr4 should work just fine.

ECU has everything to support 4G63 Turbo engine, if you want to take care of small MAF/knock/EGR/Evap/CAS/CAM sensor issues...

Although 97/98/99 2G DSM ECU might be easier to start with.

You're better off finding a 1g EPROM and then burn your own chips or use Ostrich.
