That's just nuts. Wilwood makes a caliper for cars that use the service brakes for the wire-pull e-brake. Just get some of those. Two calipers is just more unsprung weight.
 
If its the one I looked at, it costs at least $800. Thats way too much money to retain a parking brake. Its just not going to happen, I bought all four Evo calipers for $400. I really wouldn't mind the extra weight, its not a race car. I can just leave the stock rears for now, but I would really like to find a way to make this work.

You'll need some parts off a 3000gt vr4. Get both rear trailing arms. They use 2g style rear brakes where the ebrake is drum (evo uses this style too), and they're 4 bolt axles. It'll require fabbing but you can make it work.
 
Ive heard people mention this before, but havent seen anybody say they've done it. Which generation 3kgt do I need to look for, or does it matter?
 
ok i just got my evo calipers for a price i really couldnt pass up. question is what is the best mounting bracket solution for my car. Is the OP still making them. I believe i PMed him awhile back with no responce.
 
I will take pictures, but my car doesn't have abs, so I wouldn't be able to tell you one way or another. A lot of the components are similar, so I would assume it would work or could be made to work as long as the trailing arm itself works, but don't base yourself on that. Hopefully someone with more knowledge on the matter chimes in here. Once my new trailing arms come in I will start a new thread on that project and update this one. I haven't been able to find a lot of information on this swap so I'm going it goes smoothly.:pray:
 
I'm not chiming in because I was lurking that bid for 3 months LOL. I wanted to be a bit original with my 1g with eco brembos on all 4

Arbiter 1g abs is complete junk and useless and takes up a ton of engine bay
 
ABS is great for senior citizens, soccer moms, and people who look at their phone 99% of the time they're driving. The reason why most DSMer's who have used their car, that don't fall into those categories, at the track or even spirited driving have made sure their ABS system finds the bottom of a dumpster.

So I test fitted my evo ix brake booster and 3g eclipse master, wow that is a tight fit. Looks great, but I pity anybody trying to do it with an engine and lines in the way. Im goint to paint the engine bay then mount them permanently. Thanks gofer for the research on mbc's and boosters.
On a slightly different note, what is everyone using for rotors and pads? I was thinking of using powerstop rotors and pads :More Information for POWER STOP K108.

Well I hit my first snag with the 3000gt trailing arms. I had forgotten I have 3 bolt axels, so I'm going to have to do a 4 bolt swap before i get any farther with the trailing arms. It does seem like it will bolt up though, from a rough eyeball estimation, do that's promising at least.

Also, holy crap the front rotors are huge!
