Evo 3 intake manifold on 2g smog check

Has anyone try to smog with the intake and pass?

They don't have a EGR port so I bet it's tricky. I think some are able to just bolt one on, but my EVO 3 intake doesn't even have the provision for one.

they do have EGR. its configured different than US cars though.

I have never seen one, BUT, I have never had or even looked at an Evo either. I new my mani didn't have the provision for it. How would someone pass or get an Evo EGR valve to work on our cars (not that I will ever use one, my state doesn't smog test).

Yes, I have passed emission with my Evo 3 intake. Different states & counties have varying degrees of requirements & where I live we're sort of in the middle; not tough but not simple.

You can pass without egr's. You can also pass without cats.

Thanks. Well I live in California and California has probably one of the most strict emissions standards. I was hoping I could save myself a intake manifold removal job but guess it's the stock one for now.

Im in the same boat as you, I live in San Diego and am trying to figure out what parts Im able to put on and then most likely have to take off for our lame ass CA smog tests... I was trying to do research on the Evo 3 intake and exhaust manifold swaps myself.... haven't found much though. I figured I would just swap the Down Pipe out for stock when the time comes as thats really easy to do but I'm not trying to take off both manifolds as well....
