I’m in dire need of help as I am confused to what’s wrong with my eclipse

    97 eclipse GST
Has a 7 bolt 4g63t with NO crankwalk (trust me)

Engine mounts are secured and in good shape

    Has newer clutch

My bro and I just tightened the timing belt on the eclipse and got all the timing marks aligned and got everything put back together only to figure out that the car now has a vibration to it when in idle, high rpm, low rpm, doesn’t matter.... to best describe the vibration, it feels like you’re sitting in a massage chair... the engine runs amazing.... it takes whatever I throw at it performance wise.... the car starts like a champ and drives like a champ...... the vibration is especially bad when the car decelerates... i

This is very confusing and I’m not sure where to go from here. Has anybody experienced this problem with their car?

(Again.... never had this problem UNTIL we tightened the tension on the timing belt. (And yes we made sure that the balance shaft pulley was aligned up with the rest of the system.))

Are you sure that the balance shaft in the rear is not 180 degrees out of phase? it can still line up and be out.

If you took the belt off you probably have the belt out of phase. That it you think yiu have the marks right and you dont. Take it apart and do it again.

Yeah the belt got taken off.....

Basically what we did is aligned the cam wheels (the marks facing each other while being horizontally aligned with the top of the cylinder head) and aligned the crankshaft to its mark and oil pump to its mark.... we never took the belt off of the balance shaft gear..... that’s all we did

We only aligned what was right there in the front... didn’t even take the belt off that connects crankshaft to balance shaft

There are two balance shafts. One behind the oil pump. It has to be in phase and there is a procedure for it. Been discussed 1000 times easy.

Here you go. There's also a bolt one the back of the motor you can remove and install a screw driver to see if the balancer is in the correct position.

I'm going to add this. The gravity method does not work if the seals are brand new so plan ahead if that were the case. Also I've used the gravity method dozens of times. Last time I removed a bolt to check manually was probably...1994?
