okay so i have a 95 dodge avenger and a 95 talon esi both are automatic and the talon just wont run it has 196k and the avenger runs great with 165k how long do you think it would take to take the 420 out of the avenger and put it in my talon

I think you need to look into WHY is talon will not run. You do not want to waste the time in pulling an engine out of one car into the other to not have it run. What is the car doing (or not doing?) Did it just die all of a sudden? Does it crank over at all?

i just got it running but it runs like crap theres water in the oil so im thinking either cracked head or head gasket?

Well at this point, ask yourself if it would be worth the time to just do a head job on the engine that's in the car or two pull two engines. The Avenger engine also has high mileage; so it might just be worth to do the head gasket on the one car and keep the avenger in one piece.
