what might be easier, and better, is mating the 4g63 DOHC head to the 4g64 bock, and putting the turbo manifold, turbo, and other stuff on there. then you got a 2.4L turbo 4g63. just something to look into, otherwise i cant help ya sorry

will you need to change the ecu to the 4g63 ecu if you do that?

i dont know to much about it i just remember reading something about the mating the 4g63 head to the 4g64 block. try searching for it.

you probably would have a lot to change. Turbo guys would know more about that. I don't hear about it that often, so it can't be that easy. I was thinking of buying a spyder and swapping the 4g63t in it. I think the mounts are the same, but the wiring is different. I never looked into it to hard, cause I was only mad at my car at the time. One of those, I'm going to dump you and get someone better things.... but she's good to me, even with the little problems...

 haha im glad you guys could work things out like mature adults

just leave the 4g64 in it and put a 4g63 head, intake mani, exhaust mani, turbo and stuff on it and you have a 2.4L turbo car.

us turbo guys do that swap alot. we can take out block and your crank with custom pistons and make a 2.3L, or we can take your complete bottom end and put out head on it and have a 2.4L. wiseco makes custom pistons for a 2.4 block with a 4g63 head.

no the one bad thing is your car is fwd and will spin alot with a stroker motor or a 2.4 turbo cause it will have alot more torque then a 2.0 turbo. most guys that do 2.3 strokers or 2.4 block swap have awd and can hook up alot better then a fwd

if you put a 2.0 turbo in it or if you turbo the motor you have i know you will have to use a turbo ecu, not sure about the wiring harness though. my friend turboed 2.4 sohc galant and had to change the wiring harness (1g turbo) also.

so you have 5 options

1) keep it as it is and enjoy it
2) 2.0 turbo swap and being like any other gst spyder
3) 2.0 turbo swap with your crank and have a 2.3 and boil the tires off
4) get a 1g intake mani, 1g head, 2g exhaust mani, and a turbo and be in the same boat as option number 3
5) i know you hate to hear it but sell it and get a awd and enjoy power AND tracktion

thanks for your input i am just looking in to the options for the car. also will teh awd from a 1g fit into the spyder?

you know im not really sure about this question, i know on a 2g fwd coupe you need basically a 2g awd parts car for the gas tank, rear suspension and other stuff.
but i think the spyders have that stuff already from a 2g awd

well on second though i know you will need a 2g awd tranny (needs to be manual if you plan on doing a 6 bolt swap), you need a 2g awd x case (to match the tranny), 2g drive shaft ( for the correct length ), and a 2g rear diff. so yeah you will basically have to get a 2g awd parts car or by those main peices one at a time
