I’m new to tuning, just got my ecu with ecmlink two days ago, downloaded the software on the laptop, and all plug the ecu in and the laptop it reads and connects but car will not start just misfires and smelles a lot of gas. Any ideas the car is pretty much stock motor wise also if anyone can help me out on what to do a basic tune

If you have an eprom ecu you will need to invert cas and swap spark plug wires around, go to ecmlinks wiki page and it will run through the checks and plugs you need to swap to get it to start.

This happens quite often but still gets overlooked when installing ecmlink in certain ecu's

You'll need to save the base files you'd like to use to your tuning computer. Connect to the car. Open the base file you'd like to flash to the car and save it to the ecu.

In the ecmlink properties there will be an option to set a path for log files. When ready to log the car, connect to it and then click the disc icon with the green play button. That will record all the data you've selected and save it to the path you selected.

I have a 97 eagle talon tsi fwd it’s stock besides a 16g I know the car was auto at one point but I just got the ecmlink v3 an got the car running I had to change the fireing order for the spark plugs to start the car with the ecmlink. Now that the car starts it runs idling sounds good but then after a minute or two I hear this loud ticking noise from behind the radio. Can't figure out what it is I rev up a little and it goes away but comes back I also have a 3 inch exhaust pipeing no cats no rezs
