Street Build Eclipse Evolution

Evolution from rusty broken N/T to GST with major modifications and unique ideas inside.

Made custom cluster frame gauge holder, instead of buy 70€ piece of plastic.
And it ended fantastic - angle and position better than i expexted, when i sit, gauge is exactly pointed to my face and with oil pressure gauge both outside lines are “touching”, so i see everything. But position of the lower gauge is behind turn signal lever 😆 but it is acceptable, i see all from 70°C

Underbody work goes well 👍
Few spots need to be cut and replaced with stainless steel sheets for forever durability (i dont ever want to do this again) and coated with:

- all cavities coated with anticorrosion base coat
- first outside layer is epoxy primer with rust converter
- second layer is anticorrosion base with body sealant to all transitions
- third layer is stonechip protection
- final layer is black coating with protection against SALT and UV rays
- all cavities is in the final coated with wax

After long time some update:

Rear suspension parts with subframe fitting and some OEM+ upgrades.

I cannot buy OEM DSM lower control arm, so i found out same type of suspension use Galant 8.gen, so i used (for me) better tubular control arms with new 10.8 hardness bolts. rear sway bar fits perfectly with that galant control arms and under toe arms is 1cm of place to move… it will be even bigger, when suspension will be loaded and will sit higher.

Poly bushings in some places were too thick to fit, so i needed to grind them about 3mm on each side on top control arms.

Now it fits tightly as i need. Remain to repair calipper holder with parking brake drum mechanism and connect it with knuckles.

Repair and Deflock handle panels of door cards.

After long time with no luck with buy pristine ones even in grey color i decided to repair mine in very bad shape - faded flock, glue, broken backs and vent places. It took many hours of hard cleaning, but with care to not damage original print of the plastic… im brave to me i made this to that finish and i will do not repair similar things again, its pain in the ass and slow work… i got carpal tunnels on both hands after that hours of work with brass disc and battery drill … but it was worth

No 3D printer at home ?
I think the STL’s for those parts are in the master 3D thread

Very admirable, putting in all the effort to repair, rather then replace.

sadly i dont have technology to do this … in 3d print thread i didnt found that parts… so i bought both

Completing the door cards together - with sound deadening material inside. Everything made me hard time, especially that brass inserts, what started to rotate in plastic panel, when it was almost done, so i needed to put him down and fix it… and when i tried to unscrew tightened, some of them rotated too… so for few weeks i let it at it was, but now it is completed ✅

7.2.2026

First long start ! After many problems, firstly with starter, water to turbo leak it started and did first heat cycle.

Idle was rough first few minutes, but after it hold perfect, without missfires, smoke, or stalling.

Compressions before start was about 11bar on all cylinders.

Im so proud of it, my turbo build shows, it wasnt waste of time and evert thing led to this day.

finally finished rear part of the car and put chassis to its own wheels…

everything is in polyurethane, adapted galant rear lower control arms, put back rear strut brace

Car drives, i tested it few hours, everything looks okay, it needs to do the geometry, one little leak from no oil pressure icon sensor…

also 16g pushed just 0,2bar, i figured out internal wastegate were stick open, something inside did the obstacle to hold it closed.

How much 9000 RPM revs can 4g63T take ? 3-4 before STD bearings spin 🤣

But other components hold still, so remain polish journals and put HX bearings and engine will be bulletproof
