hmm, i like this turbo the more i read about it, I have ETD Intercoolers on Both My DSM, I think there awesome, and can't beat the price. i got my 27x12x3 for 130 shipped. and i got my 28x8x3.5 for my 1g for $99 shipped. great company hasn't let me down yet. hope they don't with that evo 3

Great job for proving us all wrong, some of us are researching threads, posts, pics, now just to falsify your claim, so stay tuned ROFL

Not to get the thread off-topic again, -just wanted to mention I've been running a 31x12x3 ETD intercooler now for about 6-7 months and I agree 100% that it absolutely rocks. Cheap price, but very well made.

OP: I'm glad to hear that the turbo is performing so well... very impressive. I'm eagerly awaiting the dyno results. -It seems to be performing VERY well if it's dimensions are the same as a 16g, maybe it's not an exact copy? Only a handful of people have hit 11's with a 16g.

You had no problem with slow spool up right? Full boost around 3k? I have experience with the EVO III GT, and I replied in the main thread regarding it, how the spool on it is slow, and everybody else who replied said similar. My authentic big16g definitely "felt" better than the EVO III GT.

Perhaps some proof that not all ebay 16gs are made equally ;)

Well the turbo does hit full boost at 3k, and really havent noticed any slow spool time. the only time i noticed slow spool time was when i had the boost set at about 12-13psi, but when uping it to about 18-20psi ish, 3k hit full right away. Going to Devo Tuning this weekend and having it tuned to about 23-24psi, and hope to hit the track one last time before theey close.
 
Hey man, glad to hear the car is running good! If I were you, I'd take the car somewhere to get dyno tuned. I know Adam knows his shit, but only a dyno is gonna tell you how much power your making, LOL. You should take it down to my buddy's shop, I can help tune it for you if you want.

That guy come and and buy you GSX? If so sad to see it go man, wont hear the nice sound of a DSM ripping down my street anymore :cry:.
Yeah, that would be cool, cause i want to get like one or two more passes at the track but have some #s to go with that you know :rocks:
 
Yea he came and picked it up last monday:(

He took it to GLD the next night and ran a 13.04 @ 108.5. He couldn't get it to hook up off the line either LOL. Oh well, I'll have another one in no time ;)

But if you do wanna get some tuning in on the dyno, lemme kno and I'll talk to my friend and see if I can get you setup.

TRUE! I'm also very impressed by these numbers, although I will still reserve myself against most ebay turbos. ;)

Well I agree with you on this, There are things I would purchase (As you can see) from e-bay and others I wouldn't give a 2nd look. Now as for when I upgrade, you know it going to be authentic. :thumb:
But not too bad for an e-bay turbo though.
By the way that has got to be one of the Cleanest 2nd Gens I have ever seen, Nice work :thumb:

"6bolt swap, EvoVIII pistons, Eagle Rods, .20 over, Stage 2 port job on head, 1mm oversized TT valves, upgraded retainers,and lifters, fully ported EvoVIII Big 16g GT Turbo, and some other goodies" from EclipseRydazz's profile.

I'm sure any 16G would spool 3k or under with EvoVIII pistons.

Well yes you are right...LOL...Turbo spools very quickly from stock 7:8:1 Compression, to 9:1..LOL...But hitting 12.1 at 20psi isn't too bad OMG. I wish i could have had more runs up there that day to tune it up to about 24psi. The kid i was running in that video was running a MHI Big 16g at 24psi and hit 12.1 as well. So i am guessing with it turned up just a few more, possible to hit high 11s :thumb:
 
hey Eclipse did you have pops build your engine or did bill at Apex do it. I have not seen a EVO8 pistoned 6-bolt in the area in a while bill stopped doing them.
 
On ebay it said the turbo comes ported? Just wondering if thats true cause I'm plan on buy one since my 14b just died:(
Ported? No. They're a standard 7cm2 housing. A die grinder and an pair of American hands haven't touched any of these turbos....at least not until you open the box. They don't even open up the wastegate hole enough to be functional at high-boost....the flapper is 34mm, but the hole is around 22mm- hardly enough to stick your pinky finger in.
