evo 3 people how much are you rocking on pump or race gas so we can compare with the ebay turbo.
 
I'd say it's comparable since the evo3 is rated for 380hp even though people get more. So he's a little less than 30 hp down and saved at least 3-400 bucks.
 
I had a built 6 bolt 2liter in my 2G with STOCK IC and pipes, head, cams, intake manifold and all the rest. Major nods were built motor, MHI e3 16g, 550's, DSMLink and a forge diverter valve with exhaust and it made 332fwhp and 349fwtq. This was on 50% E85 and pump gas mix at ~21psi falling off at higher rpm.

My friend made 320awhp/360awtq on a real Evo3 16g on 93 oct PUMP GAS.

That Ebay turbo is lacking a lot of tq and power for all your mods and the fuel you are using. It is also missing prob 50-75lbs tq at the boost levels you are running. You should easily be above 400whp with all the work you have dome to your car.

My other car with ported head and +1 valves does 487whp on 93 oct pump gas @23psi.

Not hating; it just seems that alot of people think you're doing this on the turbo alone because you never posted anything about engine mods. I had to search your profile to get the scoop.

To insure there's no confusion. The same applies for the evo3 16g. No ev03 16g can ake 360 whp w/out a bit of mods and/or very high boost.

EclipseRydazz, was this dyno pull at 20psi like that track run? or 24psi like you wanted to tune for?

30whp for $300 is a good price. Name one other bolt-on mod that will yeild a 30hp gain for $300 invested.

This is the reason some guys really struggle when it comes to choosing a turbo. A brand new MHI EvoIII 16G costs around $600....once you add a 34mm flapper and port the exhaust housing, you're about $750 deep in a turbo that will struggle to make 400whp (it will make it, it just takes alot of good tuning, high boost, and supporting mods.) For $750 you can get a brand new Bullseye V-Trim with a 38mm internal gate and an 8.5cm2 Stainless Steel exhaust housing. A V-Trim could sneeze 400whp at 20psi. If it were your $750, what would you choose?

Contrarily, I believe this is also the reason that so many guys are victims of overkill when it comes to buying a turbo, too. You can buy a monster for the same price as something that's one size bigger than stock, so where's your incentive to keep it conservative? Injectors are the same way....850's are the same price as 550's, so lots of times guys end up with 850's in a car that only needs 550's and they're stuck with a tuning nightmare.

Another turbo, yes. I wouldn't pick the V-trim though. I've heard way too many reports of people running them having severe surge issues that lead to premature turbo death. Of course some people have had good results from them, but I wouldn't risk it personally.

I meant produce more power, not flow more. I was running 22 psi tapering off to 20 by the end of the pull for those runs (was using a crappy old JoeP that wouldn't bleed properly).
 
I have the same fmic kit as you rydazz. Did it make a big difference cutting the front bumper like that? I've been thinking about it, but I won't hack it unless it's justified. I'm running 20 psi on the 14b but will be running at least an evo3 or bigger soon.

You know it did make a difference. In the summer, i felt the cold side and it was warmer then normal, after i cut the the bumper and felt the cold side, it was very cold. So yes it did make some what of a difference.
 
I made mine short route and it got rid of about 6 feet or so of extra pipe. I had to cut out the drivers side tow hood to do it though.
