Ok im doing a turbo swap in my non turbo 93 eclipse gs and I was wondering if I would need to tune I have all stock parts only plan on pushing like 10 to 14 psi

Not only do you need a tune, you should look at what your getting yourself into. Theres a lot of threads that cover everyhing you will need.

Even if I want to put a turbo 4g63 engine in my car I have fmic, greedy bov, 14b turbo, all oil and coolant lines, turbo maf, turbo ecu, turbo fuel pump, 450cc injectors, fuel injector resistor pack, knock sensor, and a 4g63t engine so would I still need a tune if im using a turbo engine

Oh with all that on stock boost it will be fine. I think thats everything.
I still recommend ecmlink but you dont need it.

Yea I plan on getting that but cant find one cheep enough. I know its worth it but 500 is out of my price range right now........ so then I shouldn't need to tune it then right?

No problem, I would put that on the top of your list. (besides the regular stuff.)

I didnt see a ecu in that list. If your putting a 4g63t motor in there you will need the ecu from a 4g63t car. Or a tune.

Yea thats what I was trying to figure out had this car 4 days and blew it up cause the guy I got it from just slapped a turbo in without a tune

I thought all the 4g63 trans were the same on 1G?

trans bolt pattern is the same on the NA 4G63 but the trans has weaker bearings inside. It'll be fine on stock turbo power levels.

Weaker bearings??? The entire trans is different. Yes it bolts up but it is a different unit entirely. No not all 1g trans are the same. Nt is model f5m22. Turbo is f5m33...in fwd. A few internal pieces might be the same but for sure bell housing, gears and in 93 up axles and front diff are different.

Yup. The 1G fwd turbo trans uses tapered roller bearings on all shafts and diff. The trans for the 1G fwd non turbo 4G63 uses regular ball bearings. Not a big deal at stock turbo power levels but it makes a difference as the power goes up.
