Do I have a 7 bolt or 6 bolt?

I have a 4g63 97 Eagle Talon Tsi Fwd Auto but I don’t know which one I have. I came across the page on how to find it on VFaq http://vfaq.com/mods/early-late-engine.html

I think I have a 7 bolt but I just want to double check with more people that know more about these engines. Here are some pictures I took based on the page.

First pic tells the story -- 7 bolts go in the end of the crankshaft there. The rear main seal housing area also tells the same, as the 6 bolt has an entirely different rear main seal housing

There's lots of other differences but in your pictures, these are amongst the quickest ways to tell.

Oh ok yeah I see it now! So mine is a 7 bolt. Wow thanks for the quick response and help! I didn’t quite understand the oil pan pictures but the way you showed it to me. Was way easier to understand !

So on this its simple as you count the bolt holes in the crank end. If thats not possibke then you check the oil / timing side. If the oil pan is flat its a 6 bolt, if it dips under the oil pump then its 7 bolt

When the pan is off too you can see the main caps. 7 bolt 1 connected girdle, 6 bolt 3 caps. Center solo other two are joined.
