Apologies if this doesnt belong here.

Cliff notes of what im working on are blew HG in Nov and in the process of fixing that decided to do a wire tuck. Removed everything unnecessary from the harness. Moved batt to trunk and rewired all the power and grounds with heavy gauge wire. Car is back together and everything is checking out fine thus far. I have fuel and spark. Firing order is correct. No dtcs in link (car hasnt run yet though so not sure this matters). The car will not start. I made a mistake leaving the tank full of e85/e98 mix with the fuel feed line disconnected. Im wondering if the fuel has just gone bad at this point. Its been 3+ months. Thinking I am just going to drain the tank and run 93 through it and try that. Anyone have any thoughts on it?

I had my car down a few months with full tank of e85. Feed and return lines were left open. Didn’t have an issue starting so it’s probably not fuel related. Saw your other post. Did you recently swap in the 2150’s?

See if it starts on starting fluid. Btw Which 2150’s? Post your settings. You removed injector resistor pack?

If it’s not starting with starter fluid, it’s not fuel related. IIRC my global was high 70’s close to -80%. Plug wires on correctly 4123? CAS installed correctly with dots lined up? If so, try moving the cas in either direction.

At least the engine should fire up if the cylinders have good fuel/air/spark/compression in right timing. So it doesn't start with the starting fluid like @TK's9d2TSi mentioned above means you should probably have some issue else that is not directly related to fuel. If you hear the engine is popping a little while cranking, I would suspect the ignition timing (cable ordering) or valve timing (timing belt) first.

Plugs are correct. Cas is correct. You mean loosen the cas and rotate one direction and try, then the other if it still doesnt fire?

It gurgled slightly once out of 30+ tries. Not really doing anything. I can't imagine timing is off but I will verify

    Thanks guys

Yes. CAS dots lined up should be with #1 cylinder at tdc.

Oh yes thats good to go. I thought you were referring to rotating the cas while still bolted to the head to adjust the timing that way.

Have you checked that you have spark on four? Injector pulse on all four? Cam signal is good? Cam sensor has correct reference voltage? Dried out cylinders and attempted starting on carb/brake clean/starting fluid with injectors unplugged? You have your plug wires in the correct order? Timing belted installed right? Compression check? Leak down test? All grounds properly attached? Checked ecu ground track for damage? Ecu power and ground pins have good powers and grounds? Didn't mix up the a/c and crank position wires during the wire tuck? Did you self tuck or use an aftermarket wiring harness like ohm racing? Fix one of those before that had two wires incorrectly pinned. Correct heat range spark plugs? Injectors have proper voltage? Coil packs have proper voltage? Plugs wire are in good shape? If your running SD is it properly setup? Or in general is ecmlink setup correctly for your current equipment? Is your intake air temp or coolant temp maxed out negative or positive?

have spark on four? checked one will verify all 4
Injector pulse on all four? Will post log I think it looked good
Cam signal is good? will verify
Cam sensor has correct reference voltage? will verify
Dried out cylinders and attempted starting on carb/brake clean/starting fluid with injectors unplugged? No did it wet and I think that's why it wouldn't start. Going dry tonight
plug wires in the correct order? yes
    Timing belted installed right? yes
    Compression check? 150 across
    Leak down test? No
    All grounds properly attached? yes
Checked ecu ground track for damage? No but link shows ecu is operating fine
Ecu power and ground pins have good powers and grounds? Will verify but again seems to be operating fine
Didn't mix up the a/c and crank position wires during the wire tuck? No
Did you self tuck or use an aftermarket wiring harness like ohm racing? self
Correct heat range spark plugs? yes
Injectors have proper voltage? will verify
Coil packs have proper voltage? will verify
Plugs wire are in good shape? yes
If your running SD is it properly setup? yes
Or in general is ecmlink setup correctly for your current equipment? yes
Is your intake air temp or coolant temp maxed out negative or positive? no

Yeah sorry i noticed that csv format after.. ill post a new one tonight not sure why it saved that way

When redoing the harness I eliminated the 2g to 1g CAS and Speed density harnesses and just wired everything direct. I am under the impression this is acceptable because there isn't anything special in those connectors electrical wise. Am I wrong and that could that be causing an issue? 95 tsi w 6bolt longblock on 91-92cas. This setup was running before, just eliminated the connectors to shorten everything.

Will do thanks so much you guys all kick ass

mother^@^%er I bet its the inverted spark signal ... spaced it and wired them stock order. Have to check link for settings there too

Capture, Save then add it to your thread as a file. Try to remember the file location (usually Data Logs) and its name.

Sorry to waste everyones time im an idiot. Used stock firing order off the coil initially. Fired right up when i fixed that.

New problem that has shown up now is Im not able to save changes to ecu in live tab. I have to screw around in order to get it to let me change global fuel and it doesnt seem to be saving it to ecu memory. Ill mess around with it later.

It barely wants to run and it stalled after running for a couple minutes. I do still think the fuel is bad.

Will post the log I got later. Thanks all

I put my $ on the tune. :shhh:
Very glad to hear that it IS running now so the car can be diagnosed better and its tune refined. You're not an idiot. These cars are a learning curve.

I agree with Marty. Most likely the tune. They’re a pain to dial in. Just takes longer than smaller injectors.
