Hey guys.
I have a big problem with a brand new dayco harmonic balancer. The old one was never replaced so I wanted to use a new one when doing the timing belt job. When opening the box it looked different to the oem balancer. After asking around that wasn't a problem for other 420A users... besides that, measurements were "exactly" the same.
Unfortunately the dayco harmonic balancer now won't fit on my crankshaft. At first we tried to sand down a bit on the inside and with the help of a hammer and an airgun it slipped maybe half the way over the shaft. We didn't notice that it wasn't on all the way when tightening the bolt with the airgun.
Now we have the problem that the balancer wont go further on the crankshaft or even come lose again without destroying the part. The airgun isnt helpful in any way and there's no way a puller can pull the pulley back.
Did anyone else ever experienced such a thing involving a premium manufacturer? Does anybody has an advice for me?
I contacted rockauto who sold me the part but I am in trouble at the moment because I live in Germany and there is no way to get the part from another source than that over here. Not even Chrysler or Mitsu distributes it anymore. Or is there any other parts number besides 04667772 ?
