dangit my engine blew today please read inside

Dammit my engine blew today while i was on the freeway doing 75, when i got off bunch of smoke starting comeing out of my exuast im was like shyt my engine blew, water got inside the engine and everything, facked it all up, my quistion is, Is there any good sites that you guys know of that can get me new or used but low mile 1997 Mitsubishi GST turbo engine? if so ### post your link it would gladly help thx.
 
Because these block are invincible.

Obviously coolant in the oil fill cap is a bad thing. But what are the chances that the radiator and something in the motor went at exactly the same time? And why would the oil in the pan be clean, but the oil in the head is contaminated? I'm kinda confused. What do the spark plugs look like?
 
I completely agree with the head gasket theory. Not a hard fix if that's it. If you haven't done so, drain the oil and do everything you can to get the coolant out of the cylinders.

Do a compression test, if it's off on one or more cylinders, it's either a cracked block or blown headgasket. If compression is good, then most likely your turbo blew and puked water back into the engine, if that's even possible.

Give it a compression test, that will hopefully give you some direction.

I second this, use you instead of u though ;) .

TheRealist, ask your dad to perform either a leakdown or coolant pressure test, both would help pin point how coolant is entering the crankcase. If a cracked block was his conclusion based on seeing coolant under the oil cap, take your car to another ex-mechanic. :)
 
my dad not saying its crack but its a possibilty, were gana take it to a mechanic there gana to a compression test i think thats what its called, if its a blown block then we gana get a rebuilt or OR used but 25 to 50k miles on the engine.

Grammar mistakes aside, good idea with the compression test. Why didn't I think of that? :rolleyes:
 
My dad is not saying it's cracked, but it's a possibilty. We are going to take it to a mechanic, there they will do a compression test to see weather a gasket or block is mest up, if the block is mest up then we are going to buy either a rebuilt engine or an engine that already comes with 25k to 45k miles on it.

Does that sound better? funny guy...

If i were you, I'd part it out on ebay, or classifieds....go find your self a MANUAL trans DSM, and start over. maybe a 1g GS-T for dirt cheap and go from there. its every DSMs dream/nightmare. :thumb: :notgood: .............. ;)
 
nah man, im not realy a racer racer per say, but automatic is fine for me, i love my gst and already envested 17 hundred on woofers,amp, alarm, car speakers, 18inch rims, i just want my car running so i can go places and shit
 
It sounds like you have a blown gasket,not motor.I've owned over 200 DSMs and have never had a "cracked" block.Unless you count pistons and rods protruding through the block.Most mechanics would think head gasket with water in the oil.Are you sure dad wants to work on it.
 
dad not going to be working on it were going to take it to a mechanic shop pretty soon. my dad said it might be a cracked block but he's not sure, im praying its just a gasket my fingers are crossed OMG

thats a good quistion, my radiator did bust badly when i pulled over it leaking a shyt load :cry:

It sounds possible. My Nissan's waterpump took a dump and also a shit load of problems and it caused coolant into the chambers.
